Voice search can be pooled from common searchs for better estimate on what you are looking for(like search engine auto corrections with words and spelling but not always what you want 100% of the time) but you can't do that with voice to text since the category would broaden by uh, too much, since there is no common data to pull from.

Thanks for clearing that up. They need to get better voice recognition for that then cause it's a pretty cool feature if it would work.

I don't know what you guys are using when you say Bing sucks cause it works great on the phone. Location based searches smoke anything google can give me when I search for something specific.

On the desktop, Google is the way to go obviously but on the phone I'd much rather use bing for searches. Google maps are still better on mobile devices but not by much...Considering Bing maps is being rebranded as Nokia maps and is going to be using their service, this may also change soon.

Besides Google search and maps is just a tap away on the Windows phone.

I actually don't mind android itself. I prefer it to IOS. Just feel it has to many variables in its os.
Obviously I favour and use Microsoft where I can. But I do genuinely love metro, and think Bing on mobile devices is the best on the move search engine out there. Hopefully they use this same search engine on windows 8 metro for tablets. Because when they come out I'll say good bye to pcs and laptops. I don't have time or money to mess about with desktops anymore. Apps and windows 8 tablet with usb connection for had additional space will suit me. Then I can take advantage of the further planned integration with phone, Xbox and windows 8. I already benefit from 1 payment for music covering Xbox, phone and pc for example.

Just a thought, but when Android has such high market share with such a large variety of hardware it's not really surprising that you'll hear about hardware problems far more than for other OS'. Win Phone still has low market share and iOS only has a few pieces of hardware to optimise for.

OT: It's a marketing vid so shouldn't be taken seriously. The whole event is obviously skewed in favour of the guy challenging. It's like going to a casino, the house always wins. Be interesting to see how Windows Phone actually works out in a years time with all the new apps and software that'll be introduced.

Google Wallet, Google Docs, Navigation w/ voice turn by turn, Google Voice (for search and anything else, so not like wp), Google Music (100% cloud and fully free storage for 20,000 songs), ....

Plus on thing Google gives me that Apple and MS don't do the same or at all. I NEVER need to connect my phone to a computer. Google is 100% based on cloud/internet. I just log in and BAM all my stuff returns to my phone in minutes. I don't have to sync with any crappy computer software. AND its all FREE. No iCloud fees, no iTunes or whatever MS uses, nothing but my gmail login.

iOS is very simple and straight forward, but you pay more money up front and in apps to equal Android's experience.

WP7 is more streamlined as an OS, but it just doesn't offer the same overall experience.... for a cost or free.

Android has the most variety in hardware and software, it has the latest hardware, it offers the most software for free, ... its just the best overall mobile package.

OH and iOS and WP can't cusomize shit! I can change the entire way my phone looks without root and with root I can literally and/remove any functionality.

That is far from a scientific test. The Windows phone guy picks the challenges and has obviously practised them. They also didn't show any of the losses the guy suffered.

Google search is location based too... idk what you're talking about. I click my microphone icon, speak what i want to search for, results show with map, address, clickable phone number, etc... Hell, Google did this first before WP came out and iOS users all downloaded Google search for the same feature, before Siri at least.

It doesn't always work.
In fact it only tends to work for mega known companies.

If you live in UK. Anyone. Try saying McDonald's on google. It will give you local map and number. Say British home stores. Google will not gibe you number and map. In fact instead just shows website find.

Try a small local comic book shop. Google does not bring it up in map form or any phone number. I have just done this o. HTC sensation with all the latest updates.

Do the same thing on Bing search and wallah you get the phone number and directions to the closest British home stores.
Again Bing brings up the final frontier comic book shop, directions and phone number.

This is 1 reason why Bing is so good on mobile phones.
The google equivelant does not fond everything. And alot of times only gives you a website and no local phone number.
If you live in UK and have access to both wp7 and android try it now.
Bing wins everytime.
