Images of the Japanese box art for Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy have today hit the Internet, courtesy ofNeoGAF, revealing a new Nintendo Network icon located in the top right.

We already know that the Nintendo 3DS title is to support paid downloadable content, yet this is the first that we’ve heard regarding a potential online service for it to be available from.

Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy is due to release in Japan on February 16th, so it can be presumed that Nintendo are to unveil the mystery surrounding the Nintendo Network icon before then."

*Update: Several sources have confirmed it was only a new name for the Wi-Fi Connection. The name change still implies that various changes and improvement will take place with the Wii U launch*

I can agree with that. I used to renew my xbl gold to play Halo and third party titles online. With the third party titles being moved over to Wii U on my part, Halo alone is not worth the renewal imo.

If they can do something comparable to what they had with X-band (Sattleview or whatever it was called) with the events, and user accounts that was very similar to what Live is, then they will have a network that can compete.

I laughed. Good old nintendo copying sony! Now we just need evidence that this was the name from ten years back before the PSN ever launched.
