Why is this news? It was hinted at e3

Uh... not sure if serious. That Nintendo Network was a way of showcasing everything about Nintendo during E3 through the internet. The symbol on the game pack is obviously unrelated.

Obviously they didn't want to make it that obvious by using the same logo. So that Nintendo Network was their way of foreshadowing the establishment of their network.

Too bad you can't change username. Yours would've been "deny612".

LOL! Nice one :D

well, thank god for that!! I just went from catiously optimistic to regular optimistic

Let's turn you into a pessimistic mood!

EA's Origin platform powering WiiU online!

Instead of Valve's Steam...

I'm pretty certain this is what he's talking about. Entirely a rumour.

Hey! Take it easy! It's just a rumor.

But I won't be that surprised if it's true. EA was at Nintendo E3's stage last year...

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

I'm pretty sure they'll keep it free though. As for features, it's been confirmed by Ubisoft that you'll be having a sort of gamer tags instead of these awful friend codes. Then add the rumored app-store and I can't complain, whether it's free or not :)

This has the potential to be something great. If Nintendo releases a legit online network, I probably wont renew my XBL account.

if you expect it to be even as good as psn let alone xbl you are going to be disappointed.  these networks represent a huuuge investment and sony has a 6 year head start and MS has 12 years (or something).  expect it to lag behind just like psn continues to lag.

Will it help them catch up? Hell no. There's no chance they're ever catching up. Will it help them be competitive? Yes definitely.

How can you say that? If Microsoft caught up to Sony in 3rd party offerings after only two gens on the market, and Sony has been in the game a whole gen longer, twice as console king, haven't you learnt yet that things change rapidly, especially when Nintendo puts their heart and full decision power into something?

Excuse me, but I beg to differ mylord.
