Forums - Nintendo - GameTrailers: Reggie's CES interview

The girl on the right should just get naked instead of trying to cover up with that outfit.

If that's true, that's such a terrible way for a company to run itself

Nintendo shouldn't care, because they're in the business of selling their own systems, and have one effective tool to use in the sale of such systems (e.g. first party games) that bears little on what anyone else is doing

Nintendo only need follow industry trends very vaguely and broadly, to minimize the amount of good excuses third parties have for not developing on the platform (but of course, 3rd parties will take the bad or irrational excuses, so that point is almost moot as well.)

if nintendo is blind to or ignores the trends third parties are adopting how can you possibly blame anyone but nintendo for a lack of third party support.

when you go out of your way to not fit into the system you shouldn't expect the system to work for you.

No one else recognized her as Eliza Dushku? It's true there's not really a good reason for her to be up there, but she's relatively famous and sometimes that's all you need.

You do not have the right to never be offended.

Nintendo should in fact care. For example, Sony caught a bunch of flack for releasing the PSP with only one analogue stick, and yet Nintendo does the same with the 3DS and are now releasing a peripheral with an additional analogue stick.

Actually no, I didn't. But thanks

OT: Thanks for the vid, as until now I had only seen the WiiU from pictures and in that video it's clear the the console is bigger than I thought. And with quite a few ventilation holes.

Please excuse my bad English.

Yet, they implement HD graphics, touchscreen, more online functionality and 3D in their present and near-future devices... I smell bullcrap from Reggie.

Hey! Who do we have here, other than the BIG GUY REGGIE!!!

Reggie: *Silence* *Deadly stare*

------------------------------------------------------------------------

For my dear mystery game lovers:

Alas, it was his day to fly. After a full carton of orange juice he pulled out of his cooler minutes earlier, he whiped his mouth and threw the carton behind him. Arching backwards slightly, Henri looked at the sky with ambition in his heart, that will to soar. Approaching the edge of the cliff, he looked down: it was steep. A step back, a deep breath, a jump...

lol with that logic they should have stayed in the NES era

Of course things need to move on without the need of them caring what others are doing. you don’t do things just because you care of what others are doing but because you want to continue evolving for your own sake

People like to twist Reggies words to make them look bad yet what he means is that they like to do things their own way.

Reggie what happened to you?!

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

i remember the last time a top exec from a game company said that they don't care, it's almost like 2006 all over again.

It's all PR talk. Nintendo is like that, they are full of PR jedi tricks. Obviously they see what their competition is doing, but for the image, they need to say they don't care, because they want to differenciate themselves as someone said earlier.

And Iwata is a Jedi too, if you follow the interviews you'll see alot of secrets in what he says. It's annoying and fun all at once ;)
