What an utterly stupid rumour.
More powerful as in what? A little bit? Who the fk would care?(Well, besides fanboys).
I doubt it would be more powerful in any real meaningful way or in an order of magnitude so yeah...useless rumour.

And it was claimed by a very powerful civilization, so it must be true!!!

let's see what will OXM and ONM say
btw MS need to use XBOX to promo new DirectX,so please don't even think they will going wii route
I'll wait for MS and Sony to actually announce the things already before handing out cookies to rumours.
I can handle a new consle coming out late next year, as long as it offers a decent upgrade. By that time it will have been over 7 years since the launch of this generation. I hope Sony doesn't adopt motion controls as the standard control though.
From my perspective, it really doesn't matter which one is more powerful or not unless there is a meaningful difference in processing power. In other words, unless people notice a significant improvement in the visuals of games across most games there isn't much value in increased processing power alone. Being that there are diminishing returns in investment in graphics in terms of what people notice, and a large portion of differences in processing power will be swallowed up in technical features (resolution, framerate, antialiasing & anisotropic filtering) which tend to be unnoticed by the majority of consumers, I have doubts that any of the consoles will have a significant enough processing power advantage for consumers to care; especially if this processing power advantage comes with a significant price disadvantage.
Rumours that Sony's next machine will be more powerful? Oh boy and then will they announce it and brag about how amazingly powerful it is? Then show totally not warped figures to demonstrate it is the most powerful? Then show videos of the amazing graphics?
Because they always do that and it's never once been complete nonsense.... nope their figures for the ps2 being the most powerful were totally right and all the talk of the ps3 totally right...... even though we are years and years into the generation and we are yet to really see any difference in the best looking games.
Seriously I would imagine both companies will go for reasonable components as surely by now they must have realised that the most powerful console doesn't automatically win but does automatically cost the company huge amounts of money. I would imagine the xbox next and ps4 will be nigh on identical, much as the Ps3 and 360 are.
the only thing that separates x360 and ps3 today with all the allegedly more power ps3 specs today is the bluray ability to store more. it will be real interesting to see what happens next gen on this front.
in the end its developers that make the games that make the difference. crysis, unreal, frostbite, mw3, naughty dog 3.0, etc... those engines have nothing to do with the system
that talent goes to some serious nerds pushing system to do what it does. just when you think it cant get better. up pops a new game with a new engine.
hell rage running 60 fps on 360 is crazy while on ps3 its crap. how did they do that? lol for all the bashing bethesda get microsoft should just buy them up lol
Sony should not do the same mistakes.
The PS3 was more powerful than the Xbox, but coming one year later and with third parties that made lazy ports, it did not show the difference. Sony has to release their console at the same time than Microsoft.
Power doesn't matter for me. As a graphics whore, the best graphics would be a nice bonus on my system of choice, but it isn't crucial. I would much rather have a successful, underpowered console like the PS2 so that more developers jump on board.
I don't trust this rumour, bundling "Kinect 2.0" would be a bad idea, unless the hardware is low power then the system will cost a fortune. It would get a lot of sales from the casual market though, which I think Microsoft should go after considering their recent success and the fact that the Wii U is apparently targeted towards the hardcore market.
