Forums - Sales - Global Up! - 17th December

There is one thing I have a hard time believing. The PS3 came off November, were they were 370k up compared to last year. If I made my math right, in 3 weeks in December, the PS3 is up 80k compared to last year, seems short to me (correct me if I am wrong).

As Mordred11 posted, if we compare to last year, this weak PS3 only sold 16k more, with more quality games and less 50 dollars.

But hey, we have to roll with these numbers. If true, disappointing increase for the PS3 on a December month were price is important.

If these numbers are anything to go by, the issue isnt PS3s more numerous exclusives and more competitive price point...its the majority consumers simply not choosing to care.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Didn´t understand the point you were trying make and frankly I don´t even want to, keep doing what you do.

Is your last bit sarcasm? rofl

Just to explain myself better, I said that both PS3 and 360 will have huge numbers in December NPD, of course I know that the 360 will demolish the competition, but both will have huge numbers compared to what both of them have done in the past. The reason I didn´t mention the Wii was because even though they will have good numbers, they have done a lot better in the past.

I classify huge considering the potential it has, so considering that the PS3 is more expensive and has less casual appeal then the 360, I think that December NPD numbers will be great for both platforms.

360 YOY growth is AMAZING!

And the funny thing is....they saved their price cut for 2012. PS3 doesnt have a chance

PS3 doesnt have a chance to what?  Outsell it in every other region outside the US?  That the PS3 will still pass the X360 in total shipments?  I don't get it.

Did PS3 pass the PSP this week? That's...bad.

why the hell is 360 up YOY? Last year it had Kinect and this year it has NOTHING. Am I missing something?

this year it has kinect as well? why should casual gamers stop buying kinect one christmas later for lower price? right, wouldn't make sense to stop it one year later.

It's amazing the numbers the 360 is pulling in the US, just crazy.

the 4 consoles with the most have very interesting numbers. mostly PS3 and 360 v the % boost they got this wk. that's funny lol, but impressive nonetheless. that said, it's not more impressive then the Wii.

Perhaps it's because the $199 PS3 holiday bundle was so hot on BF, and there hasn't been any since. X360 has had a lot of deals this month. That's my only explanation anyway.

The Xbox 360 bundle with Kinect currently has a deal in the US at Wal-Mart where if you buy the bundle, then you get a $100 gift card. GameStop is also doing a similiar thing but it's a $50 gift card.

And I believe GameStop is also doing an extra 50% on game trade-ins if traded in towards a 360.

just like i said this yr.(and predicted correctly) MS doesn't need a price cut(not in the U.S anyway), but they will have one, but don't count out another PS3 price cut in 2012, so i wouldn't jump the gun on PS3's chances next yr, price cut or not.

yea i know it's highly doubtful, but the possibilty is still there. on that same note, you're right.

I'm puzzled why people think all 3 will sail past 1m this week? All 3 were down YOY last week in Europe.

I think it will be close and I don't think anyone will "easily" beat 1m.

I wonder that as well especially the PS3 since it still has to do +650k without America to get to 1mil... am I missing some huge release in Japan or Europe? Last week PS3 did 700k all combined.
