And so the gap finally starts to shrink.

Gap for what? 3DS?

Because if so the gap only grew this week.

Relax people, this is Sony's biggest launch in japan outside of the super hyped PS2. Sony's biggest problem is finding its next monster hunter.

Well Sony does not own Mario, neither Pokemon, not even close to Dragon Quest and now Monster Hunter... They are going to rush hard in Japan.

It's dead huh. You guys kill stuff way too early.

People forget that early this gen PSP didn't have a Mario, Pokemon or Dragon Quest, then Monster Hunter blew up out of nowhere and became huge.

Now they believe something like that can't happen again. It's Mario, Pokemon, Dragon Quest, Monster Hunter or bust.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

This is around where I thought it would be after 2 days. I think the biggest question is how many units it sells by the end of the year.

For once it is good to see that Sony might not have short changed the launch.

What is this site going to do about tracking digital sales. Vita is the first system to launch with a store that sells all retail releases in digital form and have an infinite number of PSN exclusive titles.

With Sony making a bigger effort to bring all of the retail PS3 games to the PSN and the 360 having its catalog of 360 retail releases on their Marketplace, how will this site keep up.

The only ones who will have the numbers will be Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo. We'd only have reports at the quarter briefings.

Nothing? We don't track digital sales of other games, even ones we can track. But unless Sony ect reveal those digital figures I don't know what you expect.

If this site can "track" digital transactions, why doesn't it? Why can we not see digital sales charts? And the last part of your statement just supports what I've been thinking as far as this site is concerned.

The only digital we can track is physical digital codes, like the Halo Reach code bundled in the holiday bundle. We don't add them though for consistancy issues.

In terms of something from a digital store, where only Sony have the figures, again what do you want us to do? Storm Sony HQ and rip the numbers off of their database?

It is possible to track Wiiware and XBLA (I remember seeing well done charts about them) to some degree, but Sony PSN numbers are somewhat impossible due to lack information.

So pretty decent sales, I think. Almost as high as the 3DS, with the help of the holiday boost.

We'll see how it goes from here.

Because the majority of digital sales cannot be tracked and PSN / XBL / Nintendo stores (WiiWare, DSiWare, 3DSShop, WiiUShop.) give out sales numbers as the exception not the rule. (most the time you just get a "top 10 downloads for the past 7 days".)
