I had a Youtube account and 2 google emails, 1 for signing up for stuff and one for job related stuff. Google kept hassling me to link up my youtube account with a google email so just to shut them up, I decided to connect my work one, figuring it wouldn't mean anything, it went well. Until Google decided that my youtube username was no longer good enough for me to use to sign into youtube anymore, I now have to use my work googlemail user name to sign into youtube, what's even worse is that youtube is now trying to get me to write my comments with my googlemail name instead of my youtube name.

I decided to unlink the work email and my youtube account to see if that would solve the problem but then youtube refuses to acknowledge my account unless it's connected to a googlemail account even though the youtube account has been in existant for much longer so I decide to connect it to my frivilous googlemail account thinking that would cool things down....so you would think.

When I sign into Youtube with my frivilous email account and try to sign into googlemail with my work email, youtube inexplicably signs me out and signs in the non existant work email account into youtube. 

Seriously, what the fuck is this all about? I just want to have my youtube seperate from my email, is that too much to fucking ask?!

It is definitely a hassle, I'll give you that. I had different passwords for my email and youtube accounts, and when I linked the accounts it was hell trying to get youtube to acknowledge my passwords. Sometimes it would take my original youtube one, then other times it seemed like it would only accept my gmail password. It's all ironed out now, but I regret doing it.

Your best bet is to go with the flow, just get used to it.

It's never bothered me like that before man, I must just be lucky or you must be unlucky. I get everything sent to my 1 gmail account (I even linked up my university email address) and my youtube login is on the same email address.

I really don't see why I

A: Have to be signed into an email account just to use Youtube.
B Can't separate the two. What difference does it make if I sign in with one account to my email and another to youtube, I don't see the correlation.
C: Lastly, why does my email have to be my youtube sign in? What was wrong with my youtube sign in name?

This was something that was fine as it was why fix something that was in no way broken?!

I feel your pain. I had originally signed up for youtube with a different gmail, and i no longer use that one. Google makes it impossible for me to be signed onto my gmail while also signed into youtube, and after months of frustration I just deleted that youtube account and linked a new one up to my gmail.

I fucking HATE Google.

I'm surprised they have yet to ask for your phone number, if you don't give it to confirm the accounts you can't use them. Its just best to delete everything and don't bother with them.

I'm bothered by it too. I don't like YouTube knowing what i have watched (i mean that i know that they know, but i don't like them constantly recommending me all sorts of stuff based on my previous watches. I know what i want to watch, damnit)

I just press skip everytime they ask for my phone number and I'm still using gmail.
