Forums - Sony - No Multiplayer In The Last of Us. . . But Who Cares! b/c Its Naughty Dog’s First M-Rated Title

Alright, so I did not read anything other than the title, but- Why the fuck does it matter that it's their first M-rated title? How does it being M-rated co-relate to the quality of the game in ANY WAY?

Well honestly when a grenade detonates and the body simply falls down with no real blood and dismemberment, its like the games been dumbed down so 13 year olds can buy the game.

Grown adults over the age of 21 want more gritty combat. Has nothing to do with quality but for the content to simply match what the adult gamer wants. Im 24 personally and I love the combat in Gears 3, very satisfying. For Uncharted 3.....I'd feel like im playing this game alongside little kids cause of that T rating.

Im sure I am not alone here.

Good, multiplayer doesn't have to be in every game. Damn lack of multiplayer being a reason not to buy a game.

Seriou question: Does anybody care/realize that this means you won't see another Uncharted game for a while due to resources being shifted here? I mean your looking at at least 4 years until you see Uncharted 4.

I read something about this being developed by a separate team within ND, so no. They've been co-developing this game with Uncharted without any (noticable) issues.

I can live with that, to be honest I was a little disappointed with how early after Uc2, 3 was announced. I wanted NG to do something else and now they are.

Just seems strange that Sony is kinda killing one of its golden eggs given Uncharted 3 sales.

Sweet! I felt online made Unc 3 SP worse so to a guy that doesn't "get" online play this is great. Also the m rating is good because ND won't hold anything back that they feel should be in the game.

I don't know what a 'golden egg' is but ND can still make Uncharted games.

Nope, simply because I don't want Uncharted to become a yearly affair alla COD/Ass Creed. I feel it needs a break, after Golden Abyss comes out, I don't want any UnCharted game to come out for at least 3-4yrs.

I'm a sucker for New IPs, the moment a game releases its 3rd instalment, I start to lose interest. And I think it's time for Uncharted to take a break.

My interest in this game just increased!

You and I alike (although I admit, the game has a Heavy Rain amount of hype in my world). Seriously! I haven't been this excited for a game since '08. Seems like a particularly enticing blend of survival, horror (since they can exist alone), visual splenda, and Naughty Dog's known expertise with storytelling and cinematography!

I jhave a feeling it will leap to No.1 for me!

I need to see more before I move this one up my hype list but so far, I'm very interested. I trust Naughty Dog to deliver and the fact it's SP only means they will focus ALL of their attention on that meaning it will be a grade A affair, there's a lot to be hyped for by the looks of things, just need a release window now.

This is one legitimate reason to be excited for an M rated game, depending on the genre.  A survival horror will probably end up being an M rated game unless the developers specifically leave stuff out in order to get a T rating.  It's like how people were worried that Jaffe would be holding himself back when he was trying to get Twisted Metal a T rating.  Now that it has an M he can just go balls to the wall which fits the setting extremely well.

...

ND said they have 2 teams. One has been working on the last of us and the other on uncharted series.
