Make it happen Apple! I hope they do release a system, maybe than more competition will breed more games from Nintendo and other 3rd party sides.

Edit: I can see M$ taking advantage and probably releasing some of their game series on it as competition against Nintendo and Sony's portables.

Microsoft is using Windows Phone 7 as their portable gaming device, I doubt they'd put anything on a competing device so long as they still have a chance with their phones.

Unless it gets a keyboard and mouse attachment, it will NOT be the best option for RTS and FPS games. Not even close.
People will buy FPS games for it though, they don't seem to mind dual analog on other consoles.

WiiU needs games if it is to dominate like anything. And honestly I really wonder how you can play efficiently an FPS or a fighting game, which require extreme reactivity, with such a massive controller... It might be good for turn-based RPGs though (if it's real time I can't even think of it : try taking on a Long Gui with that!)

What a silly post. This console isn't even going to come out for another year or two. It is already (before it even realeases) far outdated.. By the time it hits store shelves the tech will be an Antique. As for what genere it won't dominate... Sports games.. Sony/M$ franchises/FPS/any game that adults or teens take seriously. Gamers don't play Nintendo games to have a serious immersive experience.. They play it to have fun and be silly. This perception will not change, if anything Nintendo will get even more of a "kiddy" repuation due to this silly (and slightly ridiculous) tablet controller and relying on the Wii motes for extra controllers. With hardware that is 4 to 6 years behind the competition not to mention how far behind PC gaming they will be. They are shooting themselves in the foot. Isn't it funny that almost NO ONE, gaming publications such as GameInformer or any other respectable gaming site looks at the WiiU as a next gen console... It will be getting ports from the 360 and PS3 and even those aren't going to release till long after the PS/360 versions of the same game releases. This console is DoA. Point to the success of the NES... I point to the Gamecube.. Poin to the success of the Wii... I put to the WiiU. /thread. 


Since you're a total noob, I will point you to the GPU (graphics processing unit) of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

The 360 uses an ATI RADEON X1950 GPU clocked at 256MB while the PS3 uses a NVIDIA GEFORCE 7800 in SLI mode. That GPU also is clocked at 256MB.

The WiiU is using a custom AMD RADEON HD 4870 1GB. That alone crushes the 360 and PS3 GPUs COMBINED, considering it's about 6 generations above those GPUs.

Maybe you're a total moron, but come on, I will do the math for you:

MARIO HD + METROID HD + ZELDA HD + SUPER SMASH BROS. HD = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

you realize the 4870 1gb is like 4 years old right, if nextbox/PS4 do what they always do they will have same or better PC hardware inside.  the 7000 series ati card should come out this year or early next. but its not jst about hardware, its about developers utilizing it which has yet to be seen
the reason the PS3 was such a failure for the first 4 or so years of its launch was because it was a pain to make a game for ps3... devs didn't know how to utilize the ps3 power. this is also why 90% of multiplatform games look the same or better on 360. why remake a game just for ps3 when it will sell better on 360 anyways and the 360 version can be ported to ps3.

And regardless, making claims now would be pointless, we haven't even seen what control schemes the competitors will use. Assuming that the PS4 and 720 go with the obvious, then yeah, Wii U will have the technical advantage in most genres. But if technical superiority were enough to make them win the shooter genre, then the Wii would have won.

What they needed to do to win the shooter genre this gen was encourage devs to allow cross system multiplayer. After a few days of getting your arse handed to you by people with Wiimotes, you'll eventually give in and fork over the money so you can compete.

For some reason I wanna say that RTS games are going to be big on it because of that pad. Not entirely sure why though.

What about Starcraft, or Command and conquer or any other good ones?

Valkyria Chronicals and Brutal Legend are the only RTS games i play, and they're the only good ones.
