No biggie. I will buy a 4 GB to start with and wait for the prices to drop just like with the PSP. Those memory sticks were ridiculously priced too but now they are dirt cheap.

The one difference is that the PSP cards were also used in Sony cameras and Sony phones, before they moved those to SD and microSD, so the price won't be falling as much, as there is no competition

8 gig San disk memory cards for PSP were 40 euro when I was buying mine 3 years ago so they never were that cheap.

Funny thing in those 3 years I haven't deleted anything bare a few demos from it and it still has 1,5 GB left :D

I remember when I bought a 512mb MS Duo (which worked with PSP, though this was my camera) for £40, and I thought I was getting a good deal!

The things is, we all know how cheap memory is nowadays, so this is very annoying!

Well they probably use 30-40$ per card sold to cover loses on PSV ;)

Yes... price is really going to be an issue, I am leaving around £350 so get myself a few games and accessories with the CHEAPER system

(though I am tempted to get the 3G as I would get WipEout free, though on the other hand, I can just tether with my phone, and don't actually play games on the move that much)

Smart, expensive memory cards will encourage digital sales.

People come up with excuses to justify the price...

apple fanboys have been doing the same for over a decade.......nothing new.

People will bitch and moan about the price of card but in the end they will get one.

This thread isn't about Apple.

No. I don't own anything Apple. I don't even eat apples and kept the docs away pretty good.

looks like people expected sony to just hand over the vita and run themselves in the red with the losses for pricing it so low... if the price is too high for you don't buy... simple solution...

OMG this.

The Vita will sell out at launch due to the forces of latent demand.

However in the weeks that follow if people dont buy the price WILL fall.

It should be easy to make happen given the launch timing.

At the very least we should get a VITA + Mem Card Plus one game for 300 Bucks when SONY start to panic.

Some of the things said here are discouraging to me... :(

But... Why get 8GB, when I know I'm going to need another card later on... Just better shut up, and eat the bullet, I suppose.
And, save 10 dollars here, and there, so it doesn't seem as bad...

Also, it's been said not to go with the 32gb memory sticks on PSP... does anyone know that the vita wouldn't have problems with 32 gigabytes, and load speed?
Maybe getting this console 1st day is a bad idea.... But, wait, there are people getting it a full week before release. Someone will say something, and post it on youtube by then..

Not that i care much but it will fall. If the master handheld makers Nintendo can drop the price on their handeld and apologize. Well than Sony might already start planning. :)

Question, does this include VAT? I rarely order from US sites..

And I'll also don't want to think about the euro price cause likely 1 dollar = 1 euro .. :(

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Wow  those seem way too expensive too be real, especially when similar SD cards are the norm these days. I think those are just placeholders Gamestop has till launch.

But you know if Nintendo starts focusing more on the free 2GB mem-card you get with your 3ds in their marketing promotions, and around Vita's launch, it could be a huge trump card to play for them.
