I don't understand why people like to hate on the call of duty modern warefare games. The multiplayer is really fun and has alot of great things 2 it. People always argue that it's more of the same. To those people,I say so what. Why would they drastically change what works so well. that's doesn't make any sense. as long as people keep buying it,there going to keep making these games. The series has only increased in sales,so that tells me people like more of the same,and I don't see anything wrong with that. If you don't like the games,that's fine,but don't hate on the millions of other people that love and admire the series.

Better question why do people constantly like rehashed Call of Duty games ?

Some people just love to hate things, it seems.

My guess is that they feel the sales are deserved for a game that is not a yearly rehash of a previous game. Some people would rather see Battlefield, Killzone, Resistance, ect do better than a game that is a slight upgrade over last years edition. People dont realize that COD (a "hardcore" shooter)is possibly the most "casual" game on any platform beside IOS and will get the same sales that a game like Madden gets.

Basically, it's because they are taking the market in the wrong direction. With every CoD games selling millions so quickly, it shows other companies and devs that people are ok with more of the same, that innovation doesn't mean shit as long as your game is addictive, even if it's rehashed. CoD is a good franchise but it isn't great because they refuse to move on. And your right, why fix what isn't broken, right? But it doesn't change the fact that CoD has not gone anywhere since MW1, with the exception of the zombies maps, which are actually pretty, probably the only redeemable quality i see in the franchise. Not to mention how they are just slapping people with these over priced DLC and people eat them up. What's more we got things like CoD Elite which is just another way of grabbing in more money for a service that arguably should be free. Also, I don't hate the CoD community. In fact I pity them.

tl:dr, CoD hasn't moved on since MW1, DLC are over priced and sending the market in the wrong direction and is overshadowing innovation over sales.
Again, this is all my opinion.

I do not know about people, but I do not like (hate is such a big word for soemthign I do not care) myself because they are trying be real, aiming to a better resolution as close to real life as possible; they are brutal, animal and war is such an horrible thing and killing people for fun and pleasure is even worste. I do take a personal and moral responsabilities on were I want to spend my money in. i.e. not eating in Mc Donalds or playing war games.

Unless is fantasy or clearly a parody of killing, I tend to not connect with anything of this kind where events are trying to be a mirror of real life or places.

Let me list the main reason COD is hated on internet forums.

-EA. They basically planned all of this. How you ask? First they told Jason West and Vince Zampella to act like dicks and get fired(they were under contract with Activision). So Bobby Kotick fired them.(freeing them from their contract)
-Then Jason West and Vince Zampella filed a lawsuit against Activision for "wrongful termination" or something like that. This was all planned by EA. They wanted to make Activision look like the bad guy which would then turn people against everything Activision including Call of Duty.
-The next part of EAs plan was to launch a marketing campaign for all their AAA games and call them "COD-killers". The Medal of Honor marketing campaign wasn't very effective.(it was basically a COD clone). The Battlefield 3 campaign however was very effective. Although it didn't stop MW3 from breaking records, it boosted Battlefield 3 sales to a new record fro the franchise and brainwashed people into thinking COD sucks.
-Next in EAs plan is next years sequel to Medal of Honor. There's no doubt in my mind that this game will be way more successful than the (2010) Medal of Honor. But it won't dent COD 2012 sales. What will really have an impact is Respawn Entertainments new IP.(this is the studio Jason and Vince built with funds from EA). Respawn Entertainments new game will most likely launch as a next-gen title. It will be marketed as a true COD-killer. After all, the creators of COD are making this new IP!

Call of Duty Elite IS FREE. Thank You for proving to me how misinformed COD haters are.

The only real upside to the premium features is saving $10 on DLC and getting that DLC monthly. Oh and clan leveling if that's important to you.
