Forums - Gaming - why do people like to hate on the call of duty modern warfare games?

I liked MW2 until it got destroyed by glitches, so that game lasted about a week, Black Ops was better than it and I only played online for about 5 hours until I got bored of it. Hated the first MW and WAW was just a terrible game.. So while they are getting a bit better it's not enough to actually keep buying them for a storyline that takes 5 hours when I wont be able to get into online.

Once you finish any of the COD SP I see no reason to ever play it again. I like a game where I can go back and play the SP again a few years later. Or a racing game that you can get into whenever you feel like it, I know for some people the online in COD is like this but the only online game I ever got into was Warhawk and an MMORPG.

Call of Duty Elite IS FREE. Thank You for proving to me how misinformed COD haters are.

The only real upside to the premium features is saving $10 on DLC and getting that DLC monthly. Oh and clan leveling if that's important to you.

Ah, well I do apologize then. I guess I did not do my homework.

Also, I wouldn't call myself a CoD hater. I don't believe I bashed anything that could not be argued reasonably.

Thanks you  for proving to me how defensive  CoD lovers are.

Maybe the consumers don't want innovation,maybe the consumers just want to play what is fun and familar. I don't blame activision for giving the consumers what they want.

Because it sells more than their favorite game by 10 times over probably. And the people on this website care about sales.

But other than that, I mean, the first Cod MW won a ton of awards... and the next two continued the story and upgraded things. and it's not like Mario hasn't come out with the same type of game over and over and over.

What rubs people the wrong way, isn't the fact that there are 3 Modern Warfares... it's the fact that Activision has Treyarch release the SAME stuff in between. I mean, I'm pretty sure everyone could live with 3 MW games and have it come every 2 years... that's not anything that hasn't been done a million times. But it can make some people sick to see it come out EVERY single year. And especially with Black Ops being basically the same thing all over again as the MW... its like 3 have come out in a row. And smashed all records in the process.

Didn't people say the same thing about Madden? Same stuff every year - why does it sell millions? Because people like it and the haters are the ones who thinks their favorite game should be selling more. I play and love Halo mp and have never gotten into MW, but I can see why it is so popular and I don't "hate it" at all.

Because COD is popular, the best way to know you are succesfull is when people start hating on you even when they don't even know you.

Well it's quite simple.

People hate on COD (like they hate on almost everything popular) because it's popular and does way better than the games of their choice. Hell I used to be in the COD hate camp but i've taken those tinted glasses off and realize that they are very good games in general.
