You don't know what a bigot is, and you call yourself a writer? When did I display animosity here. I treated differing points of view with respect. See my replies to Andrespetmonkey, theprof and Rol. Where in my post to sapphi was I being a bigot? Where?!

GET A DICTIONARY

You were definately very very very very very very (I can't stress this enough) sexist. So sexist that you'd probably make regular sexist people uncomfortable.

Nope, not one bit.

As a sexist and atheist I have to say that I am more disgusted by the behavior of the atheists in this thread, but it's a trainwreck created by all the people who were deeply involved.

Then you're more sexist than you think. I also revoke your atheism card. You're excluded from the club. Turn in your gift basket and the cute puppy you recieved.

I guess you can't handle it that not every atheist supports you equally, if at all.

I think other than yourself and padib there weren't any major sexists on this thread. I also don't rarely hear people of any religious persuasion be so sexist, and you know where I live. And I wasn't calling you a 'bad atheist' because of the sexism though (don't see the connection between the two).

@padib
You have some patience to argue with this people. You of all people should know that its a complete waste of time. Why are you even trying? What are you hoping to achieve?

I know we had a disagreement recently (read my reply please). But you can't seriously be defending padib for some of the ridiculous things he says. Whether you're a christian or an atheist or whatever.

Likewise, you can't really support Runa who likened religion to fast food as far as enlightment goes. It's for the best, if you distance yourself from most people in this thread instead of prematurely taking sides, because what has been presented so far is severely flawed in some instances. That goes for both sides.

I'm not really taking sides, I'm just against a large part of what padib has been saying, if the same thing applies to other people, then I'm in agreement with them, not really "taking sides" with them, but I understand what you are saying. If there is anything I presented so far that is severely flawed, can you show me and tell me what's wrong with it? (sincere question).

Before this thread gets any worse, please, settle down and no more insults. There`s no need for that.

Having read most of this thread, this post probably should have been made about 100 posts back, lol.

Yeah, but, better late then never, right?

Rol, I don't want to add you to the "ignorant zealots" list, so stop acting like I'm an ignorant tard.

Also: Fast food is junk food. Religion is junk philosophy.

Fast food is convenient to make, since it doesn't require the time or money needed to make or purchase a proper, healthy meal. Religion is convenient because it gives you hope and offers answers without all that pesky need for testing and evidence that other philosophies and sciences need. Fast food can offer comfort to people with a craving, and religion is an all encompassing blanket of hope for the spirit.

I think it's a pretty good analogy. Junk Food is like Junk philosophy or science.

This is the problem:

"The wall needs to be torn down otherwise the madness will only get worse. Religious people will become more fanatical as they are suffocated in a stagnant air-space. Areligious will become bigger bigots because they also fail to understand those on the other side."

religious aren't being suffocated. It's an illusion, it's propoganda. Religious membership is INCREASING. It is not stagnant. And we aren't bigots. We just want to be left alone!! For God sake, why can't you understand that.
You think that you are the understanding ones, but you're not. You judge when you're expressly forbidden from doing so, you punish when you are expressly forbidden from doing so, you insult and treat those you call sinners with disgust. Then, you interfere with science. Picketing against stem cells even though no death comes from it....simply because "WE SHOULDN'T HAVE THE POWER OF GOD". It's unbelieveable the shit the religious do. Leave us the fuck alone.
As religious, you're supposed to be the ones letting others alone...no, you are supposed to EMBRACE the sinners...but it's the opposite, innit?

Why did nobody respond to my post?

This is the God-honest truth of the entire debate. We want to do OUR thing, but the religious can't help but interfere with our lives. Homosexuals want to get married. It's NOT about the institution of marriage or the sacrament. It's about having the same benefits. The argument against? They can't have kids. Most gays ADOPT! Guess whose kids they adopt! LOL

:D I'm just being a little fiesty, I do want a serious answer.

Why can't the religious leave us alone?

Serious question, serious answer please.
