 nuff said guys, I'm out.

Finally!

But seriously, I tried debating with you in previous religious threads, I countered your arguments and provided alternate points of view on everything, and all you did was take what I said and found some way to turn it around so it just proved that Atheism was somehow inferior to Religion.  You're basically like Bill O'Reilly.

You like to assert that "atheists don't believe in anything", in spite of the fact the only thing they don't believe in is God.

you responded to a post of mine by copying it and replacing "Religion" with "Atheism', acting like the points I was trying to make in any way supported your argument in spite of the fact that not only did it not do that, but it made you look foolish.  when others came forward and told you that your logic failed, you ignored them and continued your debate with Andre and myself.

You've made jumps in logic without realizing you did so, like the "a poor man wrote the Qua'ran" argument you were fighting with me over on another thread.  Basically to you "We can't explain it" or "there's missing information" instantly leads to "IT must have been god."  That's the mother of all logic fails, and one of the primary logic fails of religion in the modern world.

No longer do we need some mysical being as a creator when we're on the verge of discovering so much about the world.  No longer do we need that divine father figure to threaten us into moral obedience.  to some people, Religion is a comfort offered when nothing else will, but we do not NEED it, we WANT it, like a fat guy would WANT a cheeseburger.  Sure, it'll make him happy for a bit, and it's a nice bit of comfort, but it'll never be as good as a real home-cooked meal, and it's certainly not solving any problems. It is convenient though, isnt it?

padib, this is why I like Runa.

@padib:

What it means, practically, is that men are to be the strength of a family. Men are the stronger sex. If a man is weak, let him work on his physical attributes. If a man lacks confidence, let him work on it. A man, is to be... well... a MAN. That is his place. He is to be strong, protector, leading and giving.

Really? And who are you to say that?

Women are also to be confident and strong, but in a supportive role. That is their strength.

Says who? I have a feeling you've never met a woman before.

To comfort, to remind, to help, to lead in thought, but in a way that complements the MAN. It doesn't in any way make her less important.

So the men get the glory and the women 'help'? Yes, this is certainly 'equality'.

Men and women ARE equal.

It means that, in a general assembly, let the men talk. If the women want to play a part, let them talk to their husbands at home.

Do you even know what the term 'equality' means?

You can't have two captains, and that's what's ruining everything.

You don't need two captains. Women can be leaders, and men can follow. Oh, that probably doesn't go well with your sexist archaic worldview.

I am an employee where I work, I have my place. It doesn't make me less important than my boss in any way, for all I know I'm probably better at my job than he'll ever be.

This is such a bad example. I wonder if you realize how stupid it simply is. You are aware than in a corporation you can move up in the hierarchy, no?

And this, right here, is why so many women have come into rebellion.

No, women rebelled because they were tired of being told what 'their place' was, by people like you.

Is this a picture you think is bad to live with? Bite me.

I do not want to live in that world. It sounds terrible.  And I wouldn't touch you with a stick.

Wow padib, I didn't see the post he was replying to. If I did I would of just ignored you. And you call Runa the bigot. I'm ignoring you now, padib.

PRecisely why I won't treat him with the respect he demands.  I saw a few snippets of this in his earlier posts in this thread, and that's what made me go off the deep end.  He's an ignorant bigot.  I cannot and will not even attempt to respect someone with such outspoken, barbaric ideals.

Don't you nor Sapphi call yourselves tolerant anymore. Don't call yourselves open-minded. Don't you dare require things of Christians or conservative folks if you are not willing to respect their POV.

Don't  you dare require me to be open to anything you stand for. Others can, but none of you here can anymore.

From Wikipedia, it fits both you and Sapphi, thanks for divulging yourselves.

bigot is a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices, especially one exhibiting intolerance, and animosity toward those of differing beliefs.

So basically, what you're saying is that to be 'openminded'  you have to accept EVERYONE, even the hateful, bigoted, judgemental, ignorant ones?

Sorry bro, Keeping an open mind is about being willing to listen to the other side with an open mind, if you then decide that viewpoint is not for you, then you;ve made a rational choice, it doesn't make you a bigot.

you, sir, are ignorant.

P.S. I bet you would have been super popular in Jerusalem in the 1600's, is all I'm saying here.

Can you link me to the thread containing the underlined?

As for the italicized, I have to disagree with you there. There are too many unanswered questions in this world, even though we've discovered many things in our lifetime.

I thought you were 'out of here'. BTW, tolerating intolerance, sexism, racism, homophobie etc. is counter-productive.

You little rat. After what you said, oh the nerve you have.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bigot_(disambiguation)

bigot is a prejudiced person who is intolerant of any opinions differing from their own or intolerant of people of different political views, ethnicity, race, class, religion, profession, sexuality or gender.

Convenient of you to leave it out you two-faced snake

When a religion preacher intolerance, seixsm, racism, homophobia etc., those aspects of it should not be tolerated. Religions don't get any special treatment or exemptions.

You don't know what a bigot is, and you call yourself a writer? When did I display animosity here. I treated differing points of view with respect. See my replies to Andrespetmonkey, theprof and Rol. Where in my post to sapphi was I being a bigot? Where?!

GET A DICTIONARY

You were definately very very very very very very (I can't stress this enough) sexist. So sexist that you'd probably make regular sexist people uncomfortable.

Well, I was just asking, and I do remember that response. But frankly, I don't want to join in on this entire argument between you and Runa.
