You've made jumps in logic without realizing you did so, like the "a poor man wrote the Qua'ran" argument you were fighting with me over on another thread. Basically to you "We can't explain it" or "there's missing information" instantly leads to "IT must have been god." That's the mother of all logic fails, and one of the primary logic fails of religion in the modern world. No longer do we need some mysical being as a creator when we're on the verge of discovering so much about the world. No longer do we need that divine father figure to threaten us into moral obedience. to some people, Religion is a comfort offered when nothing else will, but we do not NEED it, we WANT it, like a fat guy would WANT a cheeseburger. Sure, it'll make him happy for a bit, and it's a nice bit of comfort, but it'll never be as good as a real home-cooked meal, and it's certainly not solving any problems. It is convenient though, isnt it? |
