Fair? Who said business was fair? MS released first and Sony waited. That means that 2005 was a given, 2006 was a given, and the headstart momentum made 360 win in 2007/2008 as well. But again, this comment wasn't supposed to be about the 360. 

so 360 from 06-08 so thats 2 yrs? hey do you remember what the gap was for those yrs?

The gap in late 2008 was over 8 million I believe.

yea i know what the WW sells totals were but i was referring to those yr's individually.

December 31st last year. The 360 had shipped 2.87million units more than the ps3

June 30th of this year. The 360 had shipped 3.47million units more than the ps3.

The shipment gap grew by 500k. Unless sony is able to ship 2.9mil for this quarter, and than outship the 360 over the holidays, microsoft can claim they won the year because while they did say they will be the best selling console this year. Noone really has very accurate data on EMEAA hardware sales, so if they outship the ps3 for the year they can easily conclude they outsold them for the year.

Kinect sales are increasing because just like last year it's pretty much the only thing beside a few exclusives that MS wants to sell.
