Forums - Sales - Gap between X360 and PS3 below 3m for the first time

PS3 will just get seasonal sales increases this year. Last year PS3 got that and GT5 bumps (mostly in EMEAA and Japan), but no software release for PS3 this year will do that (Not UC3, not FFXIII-2).

360 will also get seasonal sales increases this year and although Kinect bump wont happen in November compared to last year I expect the sales to continue throughout December. Last year MS ran out of 360s by early to mid December and had to rely on a few fly in shipments the last couple of weeks. So that should help offset not getting the Kinect release bump. I also expect MS will be doing some big deals for the holidays. So not official price cuts, but gift cards and temporary price reductions compared to last year limited holiday specials.



Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

obviously! i was also to cut cost. it had to be done, and thats when PS3 lost its value for some.

For Nextbox. I heard it will be built with the Windows 8 OS. I also hear that Windows 8 will be able to play 360 disks. This could mean a price cut in XBL, or it could mean nothing at all. the blade is sharp on both ends.

GT5 is an old game, with an old car roster. Would MS bundle Forza 3 this year? No. If Sony bundles GT5 with consoles, they will bundle it this fall to catch some of the car attention Forza made, but that's it. on the fence

Forza AI is limited by the 360. It's not bad when you are racing, but when you hire a driver, or crash an AI it's just plain hilarious. For the game it's great, and I think Forza 4 is miles ahead of GT5.....but lets not talk about this. You should pick up one, or both games, they are my favorite for each system.

UC3 is more likely to get bundled in 2012, but you never know Sony could bundle GT5 this year. Just not next, the car roster will be too dated. um wasn't UC1 still being bundled 2-3 yrs after it release? hell i remember seeing it in 2009.

UC1 wasn't that good of a game (Killer Yoshi's appear). No seriously, Uncharted 2 defined the franchise, and showed what the PS3 was capable of. It was the first must have PS3 game to me, and the first must have new IP exclusive on the PS3. Uncharted 1 was glitchy as hell, and nowhere nearly as well made as UC2.

UC2 gave the PS3 it's current image, so it makes sense to bundle that game. Before UC1 I think Resistance and Motorstorm would have made better bundles, and guess what? They were bundled.

GT5 is still smart to bundle, just if they do it, they will do it this fall, not next year. They should bundle UC2 IMHO, I've seen EB games sell the game for $10 as a daily doorcrasher.

UC1 sales jumped by 1 million when UC2 released. UC1 sold fine, but no different then any other exclusive, it wasn't a standout.
