Feb. is another story cause MS normaly does well unless Sony has a major release in Feb., but i don't think TM is big enough to give Sony Feb. with lasting effects of ME3 heading into Feb 2012.

everything else should go as planned next yr. MS will make a price drop but not the one i want to see, and if Sony doesn't then it will be hard seeing them winning 2012 eventhough they have more ip releasing next yr: well its something like this yr. i've counted 6 so far and half of those have yet be announced.

Ninty does the usual and all the planets align for one big party. i hope you'll join me. well the parties at your place so i'm sure you'll be there.

Now everyone is ssaying new 360 in 2013, if the Ps4 wait until 2014 then maybe that is when the PS3 will take over in sales.

well i consider myself to be a realist and 2014 is about the earliest we can hope for so i hope you got enough money cause your buying the beer and the popcorn for the next 3 yrs.

seriously though. allot of things would have to go right. if 360 gets discontinued in 2013 or 14 then theres no doubt about it. to many factors involved to say for sure.

If ps3 didn't have such a huge launch price they would have surpassed the 360 already. It took them a yr to come out after the 360, most expensive console, weak software early on. I'm pretty sure sony will learn from there mistakes as you can see with the Vita from psp...same thing will happen from ps4 from ps3. If the ps4 comes out at the same time and same price as the next-xbox then ps4 will lead from the start

Congratulations, I guess?

True to my sig, the gap is decreasing. Contrary to it, PS3 will never pass the 360 in WW sales.

Had the PS3 price drop been $100 at $199 a console, the gap would have been at most 2 million right now with Holiday sales making it a one million sales gap.

It's likely 360 sales will surpass PS3 sales in November, but not by as much as in 2010, not without a price cut. Then next year PS3 should reduce the gap further. not sure? the ground is set for allot of things to happen, and as i've said before there are things releasing that counters every move MS and Sony make.

I always say this, but 360 outsells PS3 weekly in the combined Americas and EMEAA region throughout the year. So basically any gain PS3 makes will be limited to how well it sells in Japan. PS3 sales in Japan peaked in 2009, and have been dropping since, so we should expect the PS3 sell 1 million in Japan for 2012, which would reduce the gap to 2 million next year. However that might be a bit much since the 360 will likely get it's price cut to boost sales in other regions.

i think both if wise will make price cuts. sony is playing keep away. you know you have been saying that but i got one for ya. PS3 comtinues to out sell the 360 in Japan and the EMEAA's combined. yea bite in the but . you had it coming.

Anything can happen, but assuming PS3 does gain ground on 360, it will be a slow crawl. I can't picture PS3 passing 360 sales anytime during this gen or before 2014. we agree allot but i also have to add that there are to many factors involved to say anything will happen.

i'll say it like this. bats can't see during the day but at night they can see the world.

If shipments figures for PS3 are the same last year (3.2m) then the shipped gap is 2 million... but I expect more this year... so maybe 3.5m putting the shipped gap below 2 million .

The gap (before MS new financials) was 3.5 mill, so for it to be 2 mill sony need to ship 3.8M

i've never been concerned about any of that. i was here in 2008 i know what was said! i spent all day on this site watching and reading the flaming BS fanboy statements made on this site since 2007 from all sides. no i have not forgotten, and it made no since then and it makes no since now!

it never meant anything and thats what many fail to understand. blind as bats flying through the air with there heads chopped off. the whole lot of them should have been PB first day no questions asked.

srry it has happened. is it a victory? yes but only for those who care. i don't so count me out. Doesn't matter when people said it would happen cause the present is here today so plz stop living in the past.

Ok I get what you mean. I thought you were implying that the PS3 has overtaken the 360 but now I realize you were saying that tons of people said the PS3 wouldn't ever even come withint 3 million of the 360.
