3 more yrs if it continues to out sell 360 by 1m a yr

The lead will decrease to below 2 million by january 2012, PS3 is doing much much better than what VGChartz predicted, there is nothing to stop PS3 Domination to commence!

well if your waitting for that to happen then you'd better pop some popcorn, sit back, and drink a cold one cause thats going to take sometime!

but if it plays out like yrs past then the lead will go back over 3m but drop below 2m next yr and then 1m by this time next yr then go back to 2m well you see where i'm going with this.

but on the flipside Sony and MS have counters for everything each other does this yr but to me Sony's counters will last longer if they keep the multi colored consoles on the market and bring them to the U.S so in the end PS3 could keep it edge this yr. and for the first time ever take every wk in Jan. except the wk ME3 comes out. normaly they only take about 2 wks in Jan.

Feb. is another story cause MS normaly does well unless Sony has a major release in Feb., but i don't think TM is big enough to give Sony Feb. with lasting effects of ME3 heading into Feb 2012.

everything else should go as planned next yr. MS will make a price drop but not the one i want to see, and if Sony doesn't then it will be hard seeing them winning 2012 eventhough they have more ip releasing next yr: well its something like this yr. i've counted 6 so far and half of those have yet be announced.

Good for Sony but in the long run doesn't matter.

With the insane lead the PS2 had they shouldn't have been in third place, and the 360 will have It's successor in the next two years so point will have been moot. Microsoft did a better job with the 360 in sales over the original XBox, so Microsoft's goal should be to sell more 720s then 360s. Sony has a long way to go to reach PS2 level of dominance again.

i've never been concerned about any of that. i was here in 2008 i know what was said! i spent all day on this site watching and reading the flaming BS fanboy statements made on this site since 2007 from all sides. no i have not forgotten, and it made no since then and it makes no since now!

it never meant anything and thats what many fail to understand. blind as bats flying through the air with there heads chopped off. the whole lot of them should have been PB first day no questions asked.

srry it has happened. is it a victory? yes but only for those who care. i don't so count me out. Doesn't matter when people said it would happen cause the present is here today so plz stop living in the past.

i never quoted the past cause its still being said today, and now it has happened.

It's likely 360 sales will surpass PS3 sales in November, but not by as much as in 2010, not without a price cut. Then next year PS3 should reduce the gap further.

I always say this, but 360 outsells PS3 weekly in the combined Americas and EMEAA region throughout the year. So basically any gain PS3 makes will be limited to how well it sells in Japan. PS3 sales in Japan peaked in 2009, and have been dropping since, so we should expect the PS3 sell 1 million in Japan for 2012, which would reduce the gap to 2 million next year. However that might be a bit much since the 360 will likely get it's price cut to boost sales in other regions.

Anything can happen, but assuming PS3 does gain ground on 360, it will be a slow crawl. I can't picture PS3 passing 360 sales anytime during this gen or before 2014.
