Are there a lot of games on the ps3 that support move? I know they had there initial launch games.but I hae not heard about too many since then.

There is a hell of alot more than Motion+, ill tell you that, and just about as much as Kinect. THe support is actually pretty good, considering how little it has sold. The problem is people dont know about them

As I said before, Move support on games that use a joystick will do little to sell Move hardware.

Casual gamers rather buy a Wii or Kinect. Core console gamers clearly prefer joysticks. The Move is a flop and Sony is just gonna keep it under the radar.

and as i have said who cares?? What difference does it make to me or other Move users, how much it sells, when clearly its getting just as much or better support as the other two peripherials?? As long as i have games that i can play that use it, im fine. I let Sony, Sony haters and generally trollers who have not much better to do, worry about sales

The sales its getting is a reflection of the poor support. You think any support is good support even if it makes the Move unnecessary. But clearly consumers disagree.

If you don't wanna talk sales than maybe you're in the wrong thread... or website.

pretending for a moment here that the move has poor support (something thats hard to do, as it actually has excellent support)

but how the hell is 8.8 million sales as of 3 months ago, poor?

9 million sales in 9 months is a ton

i was under the impression that anyone who buys a move is a consumer of the move... hence oniyide = consumer = what he thinks is what consumers think.

Not surprised since there are not many dedicated move games. Most are just dualshock 3 games with the option for Move.

But considering how shipments are 8.3 million and unlike Kinect, one user can buy more then 1 move controller, your looking at a 4-5 approx. install base. Thats what happens when you dont market your product I suppose.

well when Sony announced MOVE shipped 8m,VGC said there is around 4m install base

so maybe 4.5~5m by now

What's your definition of a flop.

Fail.

Clearly Sony marketed the Move to a casual market, but it failed to appeal to that audience. Than they claimed they were going for a hardcore audience, but it clearly isn't appealing to them either.

This was Sony's big opportunity to appeal to those looking for motion gaming on their platform. Ultimately, it was futile because it had little if any impact. I highly doubt it has achieved what Sony hoped.

9 million sales isn't bad at all, but the actual userbase is obviously much smaller. There are those who bought 2 - 4 units. So I would presume the userbase is closer to 4.5 million.

Once again, much of the support is just Move compatibility in games that work with a joystick. This doesn't do much to encourage Move sales. So lets quit pretending that's excellent support.

i dont regret buying the move. kz3, lbp 2, sports champions and resistance 3 have all been great with it. however the point has already been established. there needs to be more 'move only' games in order to tempt more people into buying it or they could also implement it into more games coming out e.g skyrim or mw3.

I'll add Heavy Rain to that list of very good implementation of Move controls. I liked using it for R.U.S.E. unfortunately it's only an OK game.

I'm also really looking forward to trying it out on inFamous2.

With a dearth of quality "Move required" exclusive games it does appear that Sony has Move in order to have a motion controller and not be left behind. I hope 2012 proves me wrong on that.

If Sony had done a deal with EA / DICE to put move controls into BF3 that might have grabbed some attention. It really is 2nd only to KB+M when it comes to FPS gameplay. Even I don't mind playing FPS if I can use Move.

Im pretty sure theyve said before a unit is a Move controller, so navigation controllers and cameras sold seperatley dont count,

This x100.  This point has been clarified several times by Sony.

@ OP

Well, according to Eurogamer, Sony announced 8.8 million more units shipped at E3, which was in the beginning of June.  So Sony had shipped ~800K more controllers during Apr-early June.  Most likely this guy is using old numbers, as Sony is infamous for doing sometimes.  I would guess it would have to be past 9 million shipped by now.  Hopefully, Sony will have new numbers released along with the financial report.  Either that or have a "over 10 mil units shipped" announcement.

I think you're on the ball here. Only selling 300k in the space of approx 6 months is mindbogglingly bad and i cant believe these numbers are accurate, especially as the move controllers have been on sale.No doubt we will updated figures soon.

Couldn't it be that Move is on sale because they only sold 300k in 6 months?

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

According to Sports Champions numbers, it's currently selling little less than Kinect and little more than Balance Board in America, but both Kinect and BB have a far larger previously achieved user base. With current sales so low for all of the three, couldn't it mean that the public's hype for motion control is definitively over and it's now time to include them with all consoles as just another standard control (if console manufactures wish them to survive, that is) and let devs decide whether using them or classic ones or both on a case by case basis?

yes and there are also those that bought 1 move, like me.

so unless you seriously think that a move users owns on average over 2 move controllers, the number is likely around 5-6 million. (closer to 5 tha 6)

and i believe vgc, when they were doing their articles about "move user base" with the misleading titles saying "move total sales", they were guessing less than 2 moves per person.

anyway, 9+ million sales and 5+ million users is quite a lot. (then when you include navcons and eyes, its even more) the move isnt a flop, not even in the slighest, this has made sony tons of money.

and guess what maybe just maybe people buy the move to play games like Killzone and Resistance.
