Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft attempts to right a big wrong!

I'm happy that MS did this but IMO they should have offered more than that. Like just lifetime XBL for that account.

I thought you meant getting into the console market.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

I think they got plenty in return. Right now their accounts are back online with an extra 3 months and 1600 MS points at hand; what is there to complain about?

It is funny to see people still accusing Microsoft of being some nasty Corporate machine but after 20 years of hurt in the courts this image should be history. Ironically you could more easily point that finger at Sony, Apple and Google they are only just embarking on that 20 year learning curve.

If they make no attempts to identify modded consoles, then they will be criticised for letting cheaters into online games, and because there will be less software sales, which leads to decreased 3rd party support.

They made an honest attempt to prevent piracy/modding, they realised it didn't work and so they apologised and compensated those effected. @ Those criticising MS, what would you have done in their position?

Why do I get the feeling that if this was Sony there would be 3 lawsuits filed by now? Anyways unbanning people who can potentially give them money isn't something I'd call righting a wrong, fixing their **** up yes.

Well MS didn't remove any features or get our information stolen.

These people were banned for less than a month and were fairly compensated. Simple as that.

Well you can't sue sony anymore in an effective manner, but I do agree with what you stated in the second half.

No they just rip you off for online and made a console with a failurate of over half and lied about it for over a year. As for you information stolen how do you know? Does anyone really believe MS would come forward if they were hacked?

According to a friend of mine, he put a new Hard drive into his 360, but when he connected to the network it thought he had modded his console, so he was banned. He ended up buying all his recent multiplats on the PS3 and PC.

That's about the extent of what I've heard about this.
