Okay, saying everyone that wanted Halo 3 has already gotten it was an exaggeration on my part. As far as will SMG outsell Halo 3 lets look at these numbers. In Halo 3's 14th week it sold approximately 100k which is nothing to look down upon. Now Mario Party 8 in its 31st week sold approximately 200k. Lets put this into perspective. The true Mario platformers Super Mario 64 and all of the rest outsell the Mario Party franchise. I expect Mario Galaxy in its 31st week to sell more units than Mario Party 8. I think that you guys can see where I'm going with this. In the end Halo3 will have sold a lot of XBox 360s and there is nothing wrong with its performance, but it will not come close to what SMG will do being that this the most looked forward to Mario game since Mario 64 and that Mario is the top selling franchise of all time.

Yes it will ... seeing how good legs it has I wouldent wonder if it would pass the 15 million LTD ... amazing :o

it will---mario falls into a niche that halo cant----once halo 4, or halo wars, or really any game with master in it come sales of halo 3 will all but dry up---where as people will still grab up galaxy even if another mario comes out next week

Halo 3 has already been included in bundles with the 360, at least here in Canada. During the holidays many stores were giving away halo 3 if you bought the console.

Microsoft offered a "buy an Xbox and register on Xbox Live before December 24th to get free Halo 3" promotion, as well as regular Brick and Mortar stores selling Halo 3 for as low as $30 and the 'limited' edition was going for ~$50 in some places. I don't know of the last two were actually Microsoft or Bungee sanctioned deals, or if they were stores getting rid of overstock.

Halo 3 just cannot sustain a sales level anywhere near that of Super Mario Galaxy. SMG will crush it.

I wonder if Legend11 still defines SMG as a failure now that it is clear it will surpass Halo 3 handily.

Halo - 10-12 million
SMG - 15-20 million+

Halo - about 9-10 million
SMG at least 10 million, probably 13-16 million.

Smash and Kart however will beat Galaxy in the end, 15 million for each minimum, but likely 17-18m for smash, and if MK works well, possibly 20 million.

I can see Galaxy, Brawl and Kart all beating Halo 3 easily.
