Buy a $700 or more Windows 7 PC for college, get a free Xbox 360. I"m sure you've seen the commercials. This promotion run all the way to September 24.

He has, just that the guy above was painting a picture they're easily being given out for free. It's limited stock, limited laptops, limited retailers at $700 plus to a strict age range (don't remember exactly 17 - 21 or something)

Age range was 16-19. And there aren't that many 16 or 17 year old college students so really only 18 and 19 year olds would be getting most of them.

Damn, had it been 10-15 instead, it'd have included 99% of XB360 potential user base!!!  O-)

No, they always specifically said "worldwide".  Emphasized it even.  And it was never stated as a goal, it was stated as volition.  Of course I haven't heard anything since SW Kinect got delayed, which HAS to change projections, right?  Wrong.

yes I do, it was a fun way to show you are confident in your purchase living up to what your own expectations (of how fun it will be), but some non PS3 owners seemed to be offended by it and were making wild assumptions about what it means/that there was some kind sales expectations associated with it - such a shame

Chris Lewis: I mean purely install base with consumers. We don't count units unless they're actually out there and installed. This isn't shipments. This isn't revenue. This is install base of consoles.
