Can Disney beat Universal's record 2015 domestic gross - $2.445 billion?

It will fall short of tha... 4 13.33%

Finding Dory, Doctor Stra... 20 66.67%

It's going to be very cl... 6 20.00%

Total:30

Just read an article about China's foreign movie policy on the Huffington Post they just raised their quota on foreign films that are allowed to be played their from 20 to 34.  They also increased the percentage of the box office that can be returned to the studio from 13.5 to 17.5 up to 25 percent.  So for the most part its only really profitable to release a movie in China if it can make a lot of money.  The article also mentioned that Disney is making Iron Man 3 in partnership with a Chinese company so its pretty much guranteed to be one of the 34 foreign movies show in China next year.

Those Chinese government officials love their big budget Hollywood movies! I dare Hollywood to ask for more of their percentage back or they leave! Whoever is in charge would rather die than miss out on The Avengers 2.

I'm pretty sure if it China wouldn't have a huge population most of Hollywood would ask for a higher percentage.

Prometheus is at over $128 million dollars overseas now it looked like it was stuck at $91 million for over a week. Looks like releasing it a week earlier overseas due to the UEFA Cup was a smart move also.

The Hunger Games is one day away from passing Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen domestically.

Done!

With the help of Wednesday's domestic numbers it still has a excellent change at passing Spider-Man also.  I wonder how much of a boost it will get from Japan and China in its overseas numbers.

Weekend Forecast (June 22-24)

1. Brave - $64.7 million
2. Abraham Lincoln - $17.1 million
3. Madagascar 3 - $15.3 million (-55%)
4. Prometheus - $10.7 million (-48%)
—. Seeking a Friend - $8.2 million

I think they're underestimating 'Seeking a Friend'. Oh, and I hope Brave beats their estimate!

What the hell is Seeking a Friend?

A post apocalyptic comedy romance with Steve carell and Kiera knightly. It looks kinda awesome! It's full title is Seeking a friend at the end of the world or something.

The full title of the film is "Seeking a Friend for The End of the World" its a R rated comedy about a approaching asteroid that might destroy the earth.  If the budget is correct on box office mojo of only $10 million dollars it will be profitable within a week.

If the movie was made by Universal or Disney then the budget was more likely 100 million. Where is Mordred....?

The two studios that producted the film Mandate Pictures and Indian Paintbrush never made a big budget movie.  Focus Featues a dvision of Universal actually distributes the movie in the US.
