The original Deus Ex is one of my all time favorite games!

I won't lie this game is pretty beastly. I have gotten through it twice already.

I think you missed the point. Though it does take an extraordinary amount of patience to sit through 9 hours (or was it 9 huors and 45 mins?) of shitty cgi movies in the case of MGS4.

It's not shitty, it's just misunderstood.

I'm fairly sure I have heard that from someone else... oh wait... a Twilight fan. I guess there IS a similarity between it and MGS4 after all.

Ok, you got me. It seems I'm doing more harm to the game than good. I shall now vacate this thread forever to avoid any further damage.

you don't like MGS series or I am guessing any gme by Kojima Hideo-san for that mater but it's still your opinion not the general conciseness so there is no point in arguing this any more since it would be easer to argue with a brick wall.

From what I've gathered, it roams a lot nearer to the original than the first sequel. In my humble opinion, Deus Ex: Invisible War not a terrible game, in fact; it was pretty good but the original was just mindblowing and the sequel had no chance to live up to it.

Are the system req's high though? Running on full I mean? Not that the new PC will have much trouble with it...

The system reqs are not THAT bad. The recommended is a 5850, but the mins is like a 8800. I have a gtx480, but on everything maxed out I don't end up using all of it by a long stretch, so I am guessing it really isn't that bad. The game is awesome. Seriously, probably the best game I've played in the last decade with maybe a few exceptions here and there. To prove my poitn further of how much I loved it, not only did I actually pay for the game, and not only was it at a full price, but it was the augmented edition too. I don't think that has happened since... UT2004? maybe Civ 4? I'm not even sure anymore.

Don't get me wrong, MGS 4 is interesting. Game - Cutscenes = awesome. Cutscenes = shitty as hell. Game + Cutscenes = mediocre. I have noticed the game is much better if you jsut skip all the crap. It would be even better if all of that was condensed to 1/10th its size so you at least know what you are oding and why without all the rest of the crap.

To put it in perspective, for those 10 hours I can watch the entire Indianna Jones trilogy. Like, literally all 3 of them. I can almost watching both Godfather movies (what 3rd one?!). The amount of waste of time those cutscnes are is absolutely undescribeable and I am still trying to get Kojima to pay me back for the amount of time wasted.

I got it as an impulse buy and was pleasantly at how well made and fun this game actually is. Has a real MGS vibe to it too.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi
