This game has amazing trailers and I've been looking forward to this for quite some time.

I can only hope this game hasn't adopted the "Uncharted" style of interruptive cinematics though that's becoming popular these days.

not bad. i may actually have to buy it. what is the game suppose to be about?

Imagine Fallout in a cyberpunk future instead of wasteland.

sorry but dont read that as it wrong, Fallout is open world, Deus Ex is not, Deus Ex closest relation is Hitman which uses the same gameplay as deus ex before.

Basically its a game with big sprawling levels in which you solve missions though a variety of ways.

The setting is the icing on the cake being very very good, watch the E3 trailer for that.

Well, I would call it kinda-open world, you can do sidemissions in the cities, and explore the cities. Maybe my comparison was a little bit farfetched, but it was the closest I came up with.

yes but you vist them in a linear fashion and you cant craft your own adventure doing what you want, its a very story focused game but is a really good one because everything you do outside the main objectives supplement the story even more and change it.

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

i'll be waiting for more VGC community feed back although i'm looking forward to Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

that actually sounds really awesome

It's not entirely accurate as Deus Ex isn't open world although it is a FPS/RPG hybrid but it melds so much together it's difficult to compare to other games.

Within each localised area there will be plenty to explore and lots of side quests but it's also very story driven and the side stories will add to the main story and actually have an impact on events. Also, in terms of exploration, every mission you do will have multiple solutions and you decide how to go about it.

In some ways it shares similarities with Mass Effect (missions, side missions, shooting) and Bioshock (multiple paths to an objective), but the world has far more to offer in interaction and missions are far more open than either of those games.

Just as an example, during playtest, the devs described one odd playtester that killed a load of civilians and piled up there bodies to climb through a first floor window to get to his objective. They'd created multiple paths (e.g. vents, shooting through, stealth, back entrances, hacking security etc.) but never considerred that one!

I completely agree with this statement, and everything that it tries to imply.

LOL, that is funny. See some gamers are so used to linearity and being held by the hand every step of the way in some games he would of saw that window and said, yep thats the way to go and went out to get in that way.

Just a heads up, Deus Ex is sponsoring "The Deadliest Warrior" tonight on SpikeTV, so I'm assuming we'll get a new Deus Ex feature on there. Glad they're ramping up the advertising to attract gamers who may have been too young to ever play the original Deus Ex.
