Forums - Nintendo - Resident Evil Mercenaries 3D allows only one save...EVER

I probably wasn't going to buy this anyway, but this has definitely confirmed it. Screw you Capcom

Maybe if you finished the game then it will go back to the beginning of the game rather than never being able to play it again unless you buy the same game again,

It's a game of high scores, it can't reset everything when you unlock all the unlockable. It just ends when you unlock everything, then, in Capcom's opinion, you'll continue playing just for making high scores completely unuseful since there are not online rankings. What a great choice!

CURRENTLY PLAYING: Xenoblade (Wii), Super mario 3D land (3DS), Guild Wars (PC)

You guys are all missing the big picture. Third parties are once again looking to abandon Nintendo by guaranteeing that their games fail to sell, thus allowing them to say that 3rd party games don't sell on Nintendo platforms. Genius move really.

Haha it all makes sense now! Pretttty sneaky Capcom.

But seriously, what a dick move.

The general public isn't going to realize this when they go to buy this game used from Gamestop... It really isn't efficient DRM.

You guys just don't understand the video game business. Every company that makes games is required by law to have a Dick Move Department. The poor fools who work in this department are paid a meager salary and if they don't make their quarterly Dick Move Quota, they will be forced to face the Rancor and their families will be locked into crates, shot into space, and be forced to play CD-i games untill the end of time.

That's one less purchase for me... used or new.

If you buy new this shouldn't affect you at all.  OP article is also wrong about RE5 save files.

As has been said throughout the thread, if you want to lend it to someone else or sell it or restart it for fun, it seems like it would affect you.

You are correct in your points. However, one save eliminates the games value in a way. See, you can't necesarilly let your friend borrow this game unless you are okay with them unlocking things for you.

Although this isn't a story game, it may be a preview to future games that actually do have a single player. Like you said, when you beat a Resident Evil game, it says on your save file that you completed it so you can start again. But what are you going to do if you have a friend who would like to play it when you are half way through? Or what if, for whatever reason you want to start all over but their exist a current play through(different difficulty, etc.)?

It can bother some, if not plenty of people.

I don't think that Capcom is stupid enough to do this with future story-lined games.

If they are...well then I guess I won't be buying Revelations LOL.

This will not affect trade in value, even games with online passes do have have trade in value affected.  Reseting the save file will just net you the first perks, only the first couple characters playable and only the first stage.  You can just pick the first character/perk/stage and you have the same result, a save file reset shouldn't be needed.

It may not affect you, but don't speak for the rest of us. I've just cross out all capcom games of my buy list. Not without first check if they include some sort of dick move in the said game first.
