Forums - Gaming - Duke Nukem gets an extremely rare 0/10 review.

They should have asked Epic how to have a games flaws get overlooked so it can recieve a super high score.

Not ragging on Gears by the way, just showing an example of how 1UP reviews are not really objective.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Its not an F...not by a long shot. I had fun playing it for a few hours and its our run of the mill 7/10 game.
Not Duke Nukem we expected but not a complete disaster.

Works amazingly well with 3 screens and 3D vision on the PC so I'm happy to play it some more...

Now these reviewers are going too far. Did duke bang their mom or something?

0 is the kind of score I'd expect from fanboys not from professional journalists. Its almost as if they are trying to outdo each other at this point to see who can give it the worst review.

LMAO! But, really though it's like they just want to be recognized as the guys who gave duke a 0, IMO they should fire the reviewer as no game deserves a 0, unless it's literally unplayable.

It seems people have been brainwashed by Call of Duty

Looking at the 2-weapons-regenertaing health combo in DNF, the developers got the same treatment.

Duke never should have went that route.  I don't think it deserves such low scores but incorporating CoD system ruins it for me at least.  You should be able to hold all the guns and have to pick up health packs, drink toilet water, etc to heal.

They deserve those scores just for that shit.

They should've made it OLD SCHOOL, or not at all.

Lol, they did it for the publicity me thinks.

Plain BS. I have seen videos of it, it hardly looks like a bad game.

Duke is like Postal game, underground weird trip humour tainted black.

This day, most of review take thing too seriously, Thats why every review are broken. They dont make a review of the game they compared it with the one they love the most.

Now Game review is like listening to FoX News And belive what they say to be the very true.

Man, I'm wanting to play this game less and less. I preordered months ago on nostalgia alone and now I'm afraid to give it a go. I loved Duke Nukem back in the day but this one just doesn't seem good. One part of me feels like I owe it to myself to play it since I've been waiting nearly 15 years for it, the other part of me wants to just "return" it to Gamestop and save my nostalgia.

Woah. But 1up have done this before...

Anyone remember their Tri review? Yeah, nice and positive, but said 'would have been better on PS360' so it got a C+. It's what they do. Looking at their record on Metacritic cements that.

It may not be great, but it's better than all games they've scored like that before...

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

I am sorry the review is correct, and the reviewer is correct for giving this game that score. There are two reasons a game like this will get shoved into this hole. The first reason has been sighted, and is fairly well understood by most of you. The second reason is that a game is obscene. I think it is becoming quite clear that this game is nauseating to the reviewers. That the content is so purely evil that it is causing emotional damage. Once you feel this way about any thing you have a primordial response to protect others from being exposed.

This game is simply toxic, and the reviewers are labeling the bottle as such. Good for them having the conviction to do the right thing. You guys are arguing that if the parts work it should be rated higher, but what they are arguing is who cares if the entire thing is drenched in radioactive waste. They have a point what good is playing a game that is playable mechanically if the trade off is being exposed to truly vulgar content.

Guys take the hint it isn't a subtle one. This game is simply reprehensible, and there is no reason to put up with that in the first place for a mediocre shooter. This isn't about a rogue reviewer. Most of them would be giving this game less if they thought they could get away with it. This reviewer is just high enough up the food chain that he doesn't have to hold back.

Anyway the Duke is in some pretty heady company now. Games that obscene their way into the pit are truly very few indeed. The last game that I can recall managing this was Manhunt 2 original version. That one was so awful it had to be pulled back for a needed censorship sweep.
