Forums - Nintendo - All right gamrConnect, we're going to play Zelda games together!

I got halfway through the Turtle Cave, though it took me a while to figure out that the hint was telling me that the boxes were controllable (what threw me was that the hint said "the rock that rolls," and i would definitely call that thing a box, not a rock). It was the one room where you have to fill in the entire hole that made the hint finally click for me

Getting close, verrry close. Beat turtle cave tomorrow, maybe spend a day on the seashells, and then...

I just beat OoT on the project64 emulator in 1280x800 resolution :) So beautiful.

I completely forgot about this thread but I wanted to play the game again and I can't afford a 3DS (and I already own the game like 3 times anyway) so I beat it and it was just as glorious as I remember it being just before I played Twilight Princess when it came out in 2006.

I did beat the final boss twice. One with the mask and one without. The difference was HUGE!

Which ultimately makes it worth it to collect all of the masks. You rarely gain such immense power in a game.

I hope they do this again in Skyward Sword. The coolest way to do it(only a bleach fan will understand my next statement):

Since Link has a Zanpakutou in Skyward Sword, he should have a Bankai that you can only get if you complete all the game's side missions. Let's see how many bleach fans are on this thread. Please translate this post for every one else ;)

My thread for teaching VGC some Nigerian slangs

Fellow Zelda fans! Help me get Zelda recognized in the VGChartz/GamrConnect user ranks!

I managed to get Deku Scrub included in the potential ranks and it's going to take help to get it recognized. So if you can vote and put it in the top of your rankings (IE, I have it voted #1 in my listing - which means it will get the MOST credit out of all of my nominations).

Join in and get your friends to help too if you can.

Guh, i thought i had gotten through the hard part of that dungeon already, but damn. I nearly screamed when i beat the miniboss only to discover the way blocked by those switchable blocks, and then roamed around in circles for nearly an hour until i really started focusing on the missing room in the map, which i initially just figured was one that was accessible by stairs or something, found the bombable wall, opened the way, got the fire rod, annihilated the boss, and now...

Now it's time for some subquests. Maybe find that rapids ride, three more heart pieces, and the remaining secret shells (though i'll definitely need a guide for that)

I'm at Lakebed Temple now.

Lots of symbolism to decipher during Lanayru's vision. I am well aware that the translation isn't the most accurate during that section (in particular regarding the goddesses supposedly favoring 'those in the light'), but the imagery really speaks for itself. I like how things function on multiple levels - the Triforce obviously represents itself, but is also symbolic of the goddesses grace. When the Fused Shadow covers it, it represents both the shadow clan's dominion over Hyrule, as well as their defiance/disruption of the divine order. And of course, Link and Illia stand in for the warring people in order to show that anyone can be corrupted by the promise of power, and that the shadow clan was no different in that regard.

Of course, Ganondorf's take on the matter is a little... different, to say the least. I wonder if that theme will be continued in Skyward Sword?

Back to Spirit Tracks, after a couple weeks' absence. Oh how I haven't missed it.

All right, through extensive help from GameFaqs, i have now doubled my attack and defense. Knowing i could get the master sword, i chose the defensive tunic from the color dungeon (though that last color puzzle was a bitch and a half. I think i just slashed at stuff for 15 minutes, because puzzles like that, like that old game "Lights Out," have always befuddled me), then i ran around picking up seashells with GameFaqs help (i didn't know you could dislodge them from trees, though OoT and the Gold Skultulas should ahve told me it was a possibility)

So now I effectively have 24 hearts and doubled attack.

Bring it on, Wind Fish Egg!

Out of interest, why didn't you bother to collect all heart pieces?

Time, i suppose. It took me an hour and a half to get the color dungeon and the seashell pieces.

Unless the final dungeon is short, then i'd have time to pick up the 10 pieces i'm missing, but it wouldn't be worth it. Not with double defense

But you can't miss more than eight heart pieces at the current state!

The final dungeon is super short. You don't need the heart pieces to beat it, but you are so close to 100 % completion...

Seriously. What I remember of the final dungeon is "Walk through a handful of empty rooms, then final boss gauntlet." Go for the 100%!
