I'm at Lakebed Temple now.
Lots of symbolism to decipher during Lanayru's vision. I am well aware that the translation isn't the most accurate during that section (in particular regarding the goddesses supposedly favoring 'those in the light'), but the imagery really speaks for itself. I like how things function on multiple levels - the Triforce obviously represents itself, but is also symbolic of the goddesses grace. When the Fused Shadow covers it, it represents both the shadow clan's dominion over Hyrule, as well as their defiance/disruption of the divine order. And of course, Link and Illia stand in for the warring people in order to show that anyone can be corrupted by the promise of power, and that the shadow clan was no different in that regard.
Of course, Ganondorf's take on the matter is a little... different, to say the least. I wonder if that theme will be continued in Skyward Sword?
