Forums - Gaming - Sony on Wii U: "What if you've got a family of six?"

Can't wait till Sony think of (pronounced: trawls youtube) a way to get 3D tv's to display for my whole family.

Six could be easily done if the two U controllers are available to be used.
Even the Wii, with it's four remote limit, offered 8 players on a games like this:

So families of six can still have their fun

"¡Viva la Ñ!"

i don't get how you people don't understand the Wii U.

for those that love the wii and its party games this is essentailly just a Wii HD, plus a new controller for a few new things like the tag game. but why would a family who loved playing mario kart wii with four controllers not love playing the new mario kart on the wii u with same four controllers?

then on to you bitchy "harcore" gamers. this is for "U" its a hd, powerful system that is supposed to have good 3rd party supports and good online. You only need one controller right? i mean all you do is play online anyway, or your hardcore single player games.

Because Wii U isn't about us (the people who liked the Wii), but about them (the people who didn't like the Wii). So the people who want to play Wii games are forced to buy an entirely new console without any real benefits for them.

It probably should work like this. Assume you ain't satisfied with your Wii, while your whole family enjoys it, so you play on smth else. Then you buy Wii U, swap Wii for it and settle your protesting family members down by saying that they're still will be able to play whatever they're playing. Practically there's no need for, god forbid, six or even two WiiPad controllers, since there's only U who'll be using that thing to play Wii. Here's a simple Wii Swap game =)

the point is valid, but this is usual Sony PR BS

Yes exactly.  i mean did people NOT understand the name of the conosle.  the console is for "U"

you is singular in this case, not plural.  But at the same time for  all those that like the wii and like the party games and what not this is still a Wii in that sense but just in HD now.  Pick up your four wiimotes and numchucks and set down your balance board and any other periphial you have and continue playign wii games or the new wii u hd party games

OR for "U" pick up your batman arkam, or zelda, or battelfield 3, ect, and play online or offline on your ONE controller, just like you do on your ps3.

I found the most entertaining quote to be the last one - “The only thing I’ve got to say is mimicry is the is the highest form of flattery".

Bahahaha. Oh, Sony. Let he who is without sin...

Why even say it?  It didn't even make sense in context.

Stupidity on this is beyond anything, and people claiming this is a valid point are just trying to defend silly comments.
What was the last PS3 game that supported 6 player local multiplayer?

this is the thing i thought of. how many "hardcore" gamers bring their "friends" over to play COD:BO, or assassin's creed, or battlefield 3? i can bet you 1% and that 1% only lets their friends watch and not play anyways. hardcore is online 99% of the time for multiplayer. for games like mario why have the wii U controlelr when it you and all yoru friends? which if you notice you can have 5 players playing at the same time on alot fo the games. like chase. so why cant a family of 6 not have trouble with a ps move? see the point here? sorry sony fails once again. i think its timefor sony to pull out of the video game market cause they are losing fast and hard.

I guess hardcore gamers who have "friends", because I do this each week with my friends, and I know people who do it too. Playing with your friends in the same room is so much mroe fun.
