Because Wii U isn't about us (the people who liked the Wii), but about them (the people who didn't like the Wii). So the people who want to play Wii games are forced to buy an entirely new console without any real benefits for them.

It probably should work like this. Assume you ain't satisfied with your Wii, while your whole family enjoys it, so you play on smth else. Then you buy Wii U, swap Wii for it and settle your protesting family members down by saying that they're still will be able to play whatever they're playing. Practically there's no need for, god forbid, six or even two WiiPad controllers, since there's only U who'll be using that thing to play Wii. Here's a simple Wii Swap game =)

Yes exactly.  i mean did people NOT understand the name of the conosle.  the console is for "U"

you is singular in this case, not plural.  But at the same time for  all those that like the wii and like the party games and what not this is still a Wii in that sense but just in HD now.  Pick up your four wiimotes and numchucks and set down your balance board and any other periphial you have and continue playign wii games or the new wii u hd party games

OR for "U" pick up your batman arkam, or zelda, or battelfield 3, ect, and play online or offline on your ONE controller, just like you do on your ps3.
