Forums - Sony - PS Vita System Sellers Pt1: Gravity Daze(working Title)

Would Gravity Daze convince you to get a PSVita?

Yes! 11 42.31%

Yes but only with a few other games. 6 23.08%

Maybe. 3 11.54%

No. 6 23.08%

Total:26

It looks like a really awesome game, system seller or not. I wanna see more of it. The animations look so smooth during that little fight they showed with the metroid looking monsters.

Thumbs up..great thread.

And it's not just about a single game but the collective of it. You want some badass well known console IP games in the form of new portable games? vita has em. New IP's that take use of the consoles capabilities really well and can't be found elsewhere? Vita has em.

it's sad tho to see even some media claim oh they are trying to sell the console games on portable only mentality. rather ignorant to say the least.

This game will be PWNAGE. Won't really care about the reviews from 'pros' but will look out for what users may say. doubt I will not buy this tho lol

Thx man. I know what you mean. Some media outlets are stating the Vita is a rehash of PSP but its not. Just because they see Uncharted,LBP,Modnation, Killzone,Resistance, etc they instantly peg it as "port station" but NONE of these are ports, they are spin off titles that utilize the Vita's hardware. Yet thats not good enough for many of them which is highly hipocritical because they are the same people who rave on Mario,Zelda,Metroid, etc as DS games. All of Nintendo's mascots started on the main console and they brought them over to handheld. Why is it an issue IF Sony does it?

As far as New IPs go for the Vita; Gravity Daze, Little Deviants, and Sound Shapes are worth keeping an eye on. Each of them I believe  fall into certain niche types that will bring in different crowds.

Gravity Daze: will have appeal for anime lovers, Japanese game lovers at launch. We have yet to hear of a JRPG for it at launch so I believe most gamers into that sort of thing will gravitate to this if they pick a Vita up.

Little Deviants: This is the Vita's Wii Sports of sorts. Its basically a demo imitating a full game but does a pretty good job of showcasing the hardware and it's capabilities. If my hunches are correct this will be bundled with the Vita. Sony said that this game was the inspiration for actually including many facets of the hardware. It will also most likely be one of the cheapest games for the system(I estimate 20bucks at most) so thats a plus.

Sound Shapes: heavily reminds me of Patapon, its creative and unique and it will develop a nich fanbase of its own.

This game looks epic. I can't wait to pic this up with my Vita, along with Uncharted and Wipeout. Very good times ahead, this system will hopefully keep me busy for quite a while. I agree with the Heavenly Sword comparison, I can see it selling and being treated like that. And I loved Heavenly Sword btw, hehe.

i'm buying it either way, what i learned from their past games is all of their games get very low reviews or very low media attention, but all the games i've played from SCEJ become one of my favorites.

I agree with you some people just are trolls/haters ignore them -_- anyway i hope Sony releases bundles on launch day like Uncharted bundle or Little Deviants bundle. Personally i wish Little Deviants was a pre installed game for the PS Vita but oh well. maybe add a demo pre installed? that would be awesome =)

This and wipeout make me seriously consider a Vita sooner than I had intended on buying one before. Looks like an interesting concept and I like the art style.

This and Wipeout are the only currently announced ones that really have me psyched, but neither are announced as releasing this year, sadly, so they won't be making me buy one anytime soon.

Wipeout is the only one you can count on as an actual launch title, was specifically called that, the rest are more than likely launch window with a few of them actually comming out launch day.

I'm not convinced GD is a "system seller.", I'm more in line with 2048 and UGA.

That's not how system sellers on Playstation family work ;)

Everyone finds his little gem that looks interesting and then coupled with other software it makes him pull the trigger ;)

For me the trio of Gravity Daze, Wipeout and SSD looks like must have.

Most likely if it is bundles it will be pre installed I believe. It only makes more sense seeing as that means less packaging and more money made on each one. Little Deviant's will most likely not be HUGE in size so I don't see why not. If Uncharted is bundled on the other hand it will probably be on cart. Nevertheless, Sony has stated ALL Vita games will have downloadable versions from Day ONE!

I used to hate the idea of buying games virtually. I still do for my main console. Yet in the portable arena it makes a lot of sense. I started only getting DL versions of games as I know I will be getting a Vita and they can't use UMDs. I've started liking this method a whole lot more. Recently purchased Dissidia Duodecim, Xenogears,Vagrant Story, Legend of Heroes VI:Trails in the Sky.
