Expect a release date for it at Gamescom in August.
Its confirmed for EU so I expect it there.
Gamescom is the European E3 held in Germany.
I just hope when it finally does see a US release people aren't disappointed. I'm sure it's a good game, but the way people are so excited for it's release I don't see how it can live up to the hype.
I'll buy it since I like action RPGs, but if I'm in the middle of Witcher 2 on Xbox 360 when it comes out it will have to wait.
I was just thinking about that today. I was walking around the Nintendo booths and I was pretty bored and unimpressed with everything Nintendo (except Zelda). The line was WAY too long to check out the Wii U but it looks kind of lame anyway. Xenoblade and The Last Story would have made me happy to see. It's kind of been an unimpressive E3 this year. I will say that I got to see the demo for Kingdoms of Alumar (or whatever it is called) and it was WAY more impressive than I though it would be.
Im more concerned about The Last Story tbh

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.
Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi
Nintendo has to announce more releases for xenoblade and the last story or ill import from europe.
They missed the opportunity to make it a big announcement at the expo, that would have lifted the hype tremendously, and whether the y announce it at gamescon or TGS or whatever, i think the impact won´t be the same...and that´s a shame, because from what i´ve seen of the game, it looks fantastic and has great sales potential here in America.

It will feature at Gamescon, I as sure of that as I can be.
Localisations would've made good sense to announce at E3 due to the lack of new Wii software. In the end I'm fairly sure the US will get it, but it's by no means certain. It looks amazing and I can't wait for it's release come September.

| Soriku said: NoA really are being idiotic about this game. Really can't believe NoE is one-upping them on this game. If this game doesn't come over then I'm going to import for sure but that's the worst case scenario I'd hope I don't want to do. There's no reason not to bring such a hyped RPG that's already localized by NoE but decide to bring over DQMJ2 instead (not saying it shouldn't come over though, just doesn't make sense not to bring out Xenoblade as well). Good luck bringing hardcore gamers over to the Wii U NoA if you're not even bringing over your best games. There's still time to wise up, but... Lots of people on other sites are complaining as well. |
I'm baffled why they don't localise as well
Surely given that text and voice translation has already been done they can essentially 'free ride' off NoE's efforts, most of the work has been done for them. They can publish it, incurring little costs and make a certain profit, even if the game sells very poorly. Americans will just have to put up with our strand of English in text and voices, that's all.
With DS games (such as Jam with the Band, Solatorobo, etc which NoE localised, but not NoA), I can partly understand as due to the fact that the DS is region free. One in the US can import from Europe and therefore could reduce US sales and therefore NoA's profit and incentive to localise. No such reason exists for a game like Xenoblade Chronicles which is on a region locked console.
