To me it is a piece of crap. To my 2 young boys its the best thing they got from Santa last Christmas. The only thing I enjoy playing on the Kinect is Dance Central.

I let my Aunt read the OP and she reported SuperChunk...sorry about that. LOL. To her Kinect is the best thing since pants with pockets and the MS conference was the greatest thing ever.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

I don't get it.....

Kinect doesn't suck....

I agree with you,  but we can't win sadly...  First they complain that MS doesn't make effort in creating new Kinect titles and that their is no hardcore title who works with kinect.....now MS shows a bunch of new Kinect titles and hardcore titles that use Kinect and people complain they look horrible..

It is the same with the 'no exclusives for X360 complainers' First complain that their are no games....Now MS showed us that in the period September-december X360 will have Gears of war 3, Forza 4, Halo Anniversary, Witcher 2, Minecraft,   5 games that will probably have a plus 90 rating on metacritic, have all huge sales potential and the best of all are 5 different genres (and I am not including all the Kinect stuff and other games I forget at the moment) and people still go on like   'Wow another Gears of war, anoter Forza, Anoter Halo....and 2 PC games...now I really want to buy a X360 LMAO'...

We can't defend us because it is their opinion even if their complains may simply be trolling.

The Witcher 2 and Minecraft are not exclusives, they are also available on the PC.

Are we still rehashing this?  The pool of gamers who play (and actually legally buy) titles like Witcher 2 or COD on BOTH console and PC is quite small when you're talking 100 million Xboxes and PS3s out there.

Yes, you're probably one of them, as are many on this site.   But in the marketplace console exclusive is, for all intents and purposes, exclusive.

I'd never even think to buy Witcher 2 on PC.  I'll probably buy it Day One on 360.  And I spend dozens of hours a week playing games on 360/PS3/PC/Mac/iPhone/DS.

But the pool of gamers who play and actually legaly buy titles like X or Y on BOTH PS3 and 360 is quite small ... So really all PS3/360 games are PS3 and 360 exclusives.

Its about the biggest revolution to controlling how you use your tech in your living room.

As far as the games go, I haven't seen anything that thrills me yet.

The ghost recon demo was stupid.

All it showed was menu screens.

Playing the game would have to be on rails as you have no movement control.. hence the crappy SW game.

Wrong, there were movement controls. You can rewatch the clip, it's in there.

As far as I can see, it depends on the player moving to the sides, don't know if there's anything about going back and forth.

The conference was alright. I only got to watch up to the part with disneyland kinect. To be honest, I am not impressed. Ghost recon looks good and seems to work well but the shooting looked weird to me. Mass Effect 3 Voice thing was kinda cool but it looks so goddamn unnecessary. It is much more convenient to use the controller. Ryse looked cool but no gameplay, Fable was on rail apparently, god forbid.

I'd agree, but that's not really what we're talking about.  While the pool of multiple console owners is quite small in the grand scheme of things, in that case you're talking about which console to buy - not whether or not you will buy a console at all.  So then exclusives to either platform - or the Wii for that matter - do indeed have impact.

However, PC is not the same thing as a console.  It's just not.  Gaming on the PS3 and 360 platforms are essentially the same experience with little tweaks like a controller or the PSN/Live overlay to the game. Gaming on the PC is not the same thing.  All PC gamers will tell you that.

Can't we all just get along and play our games in peace?

Coudnt agree more, cant believe microsoft is repeating their previous e3! And are they blind to see that kinect does not work on some games!!! star wars looked horrible.

You mean last year's E3 which helped them reverse the trends in the whole history of consoles by actually increasing sales AND succesfully launching an expensive peripheral and having all their financials up?

Yes.  As a corporation, you certainly wouldn't want to repeat THAT.  God forbid.

If they hadn't had Dance Central it would have flopped. None of these games displayed today will continue that trend... not for $150. Needs to be $40.

That makes a ton of sense. It's not like it got outsold by Kinect Sports or anything. Oh wait...

1. sports was $20 cheaper

2. sports was a direct rip off of the biggest selling game of this generation... wii sports.

Dance Central is still the only game remotely worth having in that offerings... and that is soundly beat by Just Dance 2 in terms of quality and fun. 4 player >>>>>>>> one at a time.

Point is Kinect sold off of hype.

Its a crappy product that needs mroe time in the oven and a solid controller to help with actual movement beyond dodging.

It needs far faster response time.

Its best current feature could have been done with just software and a mic.

There obviously targeting the casual audience and I really don't see that as a bad thing. I personally thought the star wars game looked fun. The only negative thing about kinnect in my mind is the price.
