2. did Sony fund insomniacts games or do insomniact have to fund it themselfs?

yo yo HipHopGamer is saying there will be an exclusive deal with them and MS for the game yo!

lol imagine if they did that and if Bungie did the same with Sony..!?

I hope they don't do that as that would hurt their reputation among Sony fans

Why would sony fans get mad? Resistance, Ratchet & Clank are still sony exclusive. Besides it would also gain 360 fans, so both cancels out in the end!!

They can keep it for Resistance, but there is no need for it in Ratchet, apart from if they take the All 4 One root

True, but the issues with Resistance were not lack of time, but poor ideas

I wouldn't mind having a good coop experience in normal R&C games, though I wonder how it would be done.

And I would say Insomniac had good ideas for Resistance 2, even if they weren't all good. The coop was a blast and I'm really sad to see it go.

But the game still lacked polish, and that's what more time would have got them.

I was thinking more of things like the lack of a weapon wheel, moving away from their history of interesting weapons

Weapon wheel and generic weapons aren't thhe things that decide the development time of your game though. Adding a seperate coop campaign can however give a hell of a lot of extra work.

So BUNGIE next game exclusive to ps3, you think that makes 360 fanboys happy? I can bet you 100% they be throwing insults at bungie happened with bioware after Mass effect ps3 announcement.

1. I think Sony gets the majority of the sales and I think Insomniac only get a small amount.

2. Sony is funding their game. It's like Sony is hiring them to create games for them.

3. I think Sucker Punch is not bound to any contract. They are independent. They can go multi platform now if they want to. Sony and Sucker punch also has a close tie relationship. Just like Insomniac. They just love working for Sony because according to them they are a great publisher. I remember in one of Insomniac's interview that they present a game to Sony even though Sony thinks that the game is not that good they are still willing to publish it.

It will probably be a FPS.

Get out! -->

OT: I'd be pretty interested if it's a survival horror game.

From what's been said in past threads, Insomniac likely gets very little or possibly nothing aside from maybe a bonus if the game does really well. SONY basically pays for each employees salary and maybe stuff like building repairs and maintenance, etc. and that's how the budget works out.

And yea, a lot of SONY devs have been saying that. I remember an interview where heads of both Quantic Dream and Santa Monica were speaking very positively about how much freedom they had working with SONY.
