also

serius sam had prety "realistic" visuals for it's day only the enemy designs were really unrealistic and they seem to still be pretty crazy

I loved the franchise but the idea of going to place A kill a lof of enemies;..then going to place B and do the same doesn't sound interesting anymore.

How are they realistic, look cartoony.

for their time that was pretty realistic, look at all those muscles, skin texture, pants and almost realistic size eyes. If anything the new versions are more cartoony with their half of the monster is an eyeball etc

It is only really the technical limitations that make them look cartoony
