HD Graphics, a guiding system so I don't waste time getting stuck. It needs voice actors and Link talking. It needs to be hard or at least have different difficulty choices. Basically I would change it up a lot even if the game is good it still has many annoying factors.

Well, there are always online guides but since Mario Glaxy 2 and Ocarina of Time 3DS have optional guides, I'm guessing we'll be seeing this feature more often in NIntendo's major adventure games. Personally, I want voice actors but Link talking would be too wierd cuz I've grown to love the guy that never talks even when everyone else does. I guess the one thing we've all listed the most is a harder difficulty.

Ocarina of Time was my first time of experiencing stealth in a video game. For me, no adventure game is complete without some stealth sections so 'the ultimate zelda' must have a few of those for me.

Link talking would not have to be I guess, but the Twilight Princess was so outdated with all text and the characters just making goofy sounds. You waste more time reading than is needed when a good video could delever it faster and add more personality to the characters. Yes the online guide helps, but it could be more like open world games that show your goals on a radar. People brag say the game is long well I say a little too long witch could be shortened and made sweeter by changing just a few things.

I agree. I want voice acting but a silent Link. Twilight Princess showed your goals on radar and previous Zeldas had an assist character that kept yelling at you where to go next. I don't want it shortened. They should just replace unneccesarry stuff with fun stuff, instead of removing them and replacing with nothing. I want it saturated with side missions like Majora's Mask. Time wasting elements should be removed. Things like latching on to a SLOW rotating panel in the City in the Sky and waitng for it to rotate to the right angle so you can latch unto the next slow moving panel.

Dream Zelda game list:

- More like Majora's Mask, I liked the themes, the style and the overall atmosphere that Nintendo approached with the game, which only makes it more special because of how rarely they take that approach.

This. If the atmosphere has to feel like disney, make it feel like the best of what disney has done. Otherwise, make it feel like MM.

- I want it to look gorgeous. Ocarina, Twilight Princess and even the old NES and SNES games were extremely generic in terms of art design, they always nailed the music, but their artist never seemed able to nail what they were going for. Wind Waker was a good showing, but they also changed the whole game along with the art style, which wasn't something I wanted at the time. Something along the lines of a moodier Valkyria Chronicles, Tenga Toppa Gurren Lagaan, Soul Eater or Samurai Champoo would look fantastic. Otherwise they could take the realistic approach and make their games in a similar style to something like Assassins Creed 2 and use amazing environments, camera angles, heaps of detail and free roam to make up for a un-striking art design.

I don't know Tenga TGL but I'm ok with VC or Soul Eater, but not Champloo. not Zelda-ish at all!

- I want it to be completely open. I want to be able to go to the village on my trusty steed, then sail to the far corners of the desert kingdom and just change course and return to the city to talk to every chracter and see what they have to say. Ocarina of Time was special because it made you feel like a child that was given free reign to explore a whole new world, look under every rock, meet interesting new characters, do every single side mission and just collect weapons and rupees.

This^

- No motion control, get rid of that bullshit.

But it has so much potential if used well! I mean look at the Mario Galaxy games or metroid Prime Trilogy!

- Keep the plot simple, they've done well so far, but I just get worried that all these Zelda fanboys that spend hours discussing the 'Zelda timeline' are going to get into Nintendo's head and make them take some stupid risk with an overly detailed plot or just some crazy garbage. Nintendo's strength isn't in their storylines, just make it grand and epic and I'll be happy. Once again, Gurren Lagaan should be an example they look to.

What if they pull off a good story well? I did mention something like the Legend of the Seeker but if they CAN'T do it well, they shouldn't. However, this is a wishful thinking thread so allow me to assume that they can do it well. Afterall, what would be the ultimate zelda for me personally would have a great story.

- Copy the combat from Fable 2, maybe add a jump button, keep making good soundtracks, don't let anyone speak and make sure there are no cameos from other Nintendo games.I could probably go on, but these are the main things I want.

I haven't played Fable 2, but if it means the combat will be better without feeling un-zelda-ish, I agree. From the fable vidoes I've watched, this will probably be a good idea.

My thread for teaching VGC some Nigerian slangs

The Ultimate Zelda game was released nearly 13 years ago when they nailed it with Ocarina of Time.

I agree that the series should be dark... But not dark in a Doom or Metroid kind of way, that would be stupid; the series should be dark in a Brothers Grimm kind of way.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

My ultimate "Zelda" game is already in development, and it's coming out this year too...

Disclaimer: Zelda Spoilers. Please note, this is not a doom thread in any way. This thread follows up on the Zelda problem thread (not that there really is a big problem, just a small one).

I was wondering, if you were to tell Nintendo how you wanted your Zelda game, what would you tell them.

To start, I'll state some things I find absolutely awesome about the series, game by games (the ones I've played, and I'll just do the console versions for now):

Highlights of past zeldas:

Zelda 1: Eerie flute music, people living in small caves, secret caves that are totally inconspicuous (really secret), matte colors, going up mountains on a small path, blue and red medecine, sick last level music, cool level music, those damn hands that bring you back to the begining of the level (very dangerous), rings that changes the color of your clothes, burning bushes with the candle, scary statues with big noses, secret staircases, a raft, north south east west, and too much more to name.

Zelda 2: Funky town music, awesome temple music, downward thrust!!, upward thrust, battling knights, sick last level music, incredibly difficult monsters (graveyard, passage towards the last level), tough bosses, leveling up, potions hidden in knight and other statues, matte colors, death mountain (a good challenge), townsfolk that turn into vampires, hidden towns, hidden paths, broken bridges, I am error.

Zelda LTTP: bottles to hold faries for extra lives, fountains to upgrade items, shovel, capes, staffs, guantlets, eerie sanctuary music, dark world, lost woods, the lumberjacks, smitties who make cooler swords, cool sword colors, cool tunic colors, very dark death mountain in dark world, the hookshot, cymbals quake  thunder etc, super bomp, pegasus boots, tough bosses, flipping ennemies over, icy floors, ocarina and the boy in the woods, finding someone under the bridge.

Zelda OOT: Growing old, destruction of the world and going back and forth in time between the harmony and chaos, reDeads, taming Epona, Lon-Lon ranch, songs for different things, the song of storms, issues spanning time, the skullatula, shotting bomb-flowers from far with arrows, water temple (very challenging), awesome spirit temple music, the gerudo and their sick music, night and day, the reaper in castle town after chaos, the biggoron sword, quivers and bomb bags, diving, the hover boots, guantlets that can lift absolutely humonguous rocks, fishing, the final battle and music, matte colors, the lost woods, growing up in the kokiri forest but being a hyrulean, more Hyrule lore, the ice cavern and blue fire, cool tunics, teleport pads that you don't know are for until you're grown, the temple of time and music, the twist of fates opening up the sacred realm for ganondorf, ganondorf as a gerudo king, the lens of truth.

Zelda MM: New stray faeries (collectible), the water temple, 4 areas of the world: North, South, East and West, each with their own climate. Very wacky field music, totally wacky maps and colors (deku swamp). Alternate and twisted universe, with its own physics and rules: a portal from the real world, a crashing moon, days that can be sped or slowed down. The observatory and its music, the song of healing, masks!!! transforming masks, just fun masks, expanding on that useless mask store in OOT, expanding on the simple forest kid. The fierce deity mask, the faerie sword, new items for young link. Using adult link tools as young link. Ikana Canyon, its castle and

Zelda WW: Facial expressions and vivid animations, very high rise structures huge depth, dragon roost isle tune,

The Zelda I would have them make:

...

I'll complete this when I get back from work, but in the mean time, feel free to post your own ideas. You can follow my lead, 1) highlight elements from past zeldas, 2) What you would have Nintendo make.

What's the point you'll say? To increase awareness on what fans of Zelda want, and what they don't really want or not as much, and to help us enjoy what we have, and accept what they make even if we're so-so on it.

you still at work? :P

Anywho my thought of a great Zelda would be a world where you combine OoT and WW together

I do not mind what kind of graphics they would use but it would be nice if it was a more mature stile. It could still be cell shaded if they chose that road.

Ok so what I meant with the combination of OoT and WW is that I want to be able to sail and do things at sea in a boat, at islands ships and go treasure hunting. I also want to be able to be on land like in OoT. Riding Epona on vast fields and fighting on horseback.

Lots of side quests and it would be fun to do things in different order though some places of course you will not be able to pas and enemies that you won’t be able to beat until you have a certain item or weapon.

I want magic to be back and in a big way. Different sword slash rays or whatever they are called. I want to be able to use different elements like fire, water, wind or earth.

I want a huge forest (that was going to be on TP but they removed it god damit!) where I can hunt and be hunted. More animal life, like dear or something that I might want to hunt and sell or something. I don’t know I always think of hunting when I think of Zelda.

I will add more later :P

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

I really like Roma's forest idea! I beat MGS3 so I can see the potential here. Earlier in this thread, I also said that for me no adventure game is complete without stealth. I would prefer forest stealth to corridor stealth anyday. Also, I would like Roma's sailing idea if there are many small lakes, streams and rivers rather than a few large ones.

Padib clearly wants a 3D Zelda II, more or less the way OoT was a 3D version of a Link to the Past. As someone that started playing Zelda(and beating games, for that matter) from OoT, I don't have the same sentiments towards Zelda II , even though I've played it. I agree with Padib's music direction. I don't care about the RPG like upgrading, I prefer the idea of getting more weapons and magic as you progress. But I won't mind the weapons having multiple upgrades. I definitely want magic to return. Use motion to innovate where you can, and where you can't, just put regular magic spells. No spells that use motion just for the sake of using it.

You know, I think Padib's thread has gathered a few good ideas already, I never thought about the hunting thing before, but as soon as I read it, I knew I'd like it.
