im slightly off topic here...

i generally cosnider myself a pretty accepting person...but i dont like transgender people.

I don't dislike transgendered people at all, but I do think they have absolutely no place in the gay movement, which is about accepting who you are rather than what you are not.

It's true. One deals with orientation, while the other deals with identity.

What about Ian McKellen?

You mean the most badass man alive?

Back in high school I assumed all gays exhibited somewhat feminine characteristics.  Then I discovered Ian McKellen is gay, and my mind was blown.

Though Christopher Lee is a worthy contender for his title.  He had to lecture Peter Jackson about the act of stabbing a man in the back for his role as Saruman in the Lord of the Rings, as he had actually stabbed a man in the back during World War I.

Was that when he was completely cut from Return of the King?

He was stabbed in the extended edition, which is why he needed to tell Peter Jackson how it should be done lol.

I guess Peter Jackson learned how to do it much too well :P

Are you guys still talking about stabbing?

I think 1/1000 gay people are born that way.

The rest become like that due to... Well, maybe I shouldn't say what I think... The rest choose to be gay.

I won't discriminate against someone for that since we all do some strange stuff, but I do think its unnatural and perverted.

I think your beliefs are perverted.

You're both perverts. Period

Transgendered people don't fit into the gay movement in terms of sexuality, but in terms of being misunderstood and discriminated against they fit in fine.

Transgendered people also do not make a choice. Essentially you have two genders, your physical gender and your gender identity - what you feel yourself to be. On the vast majority of people these two match up, most people who know they are men have penises. For trans people their physical gender doesn't match their gender identity.

Heavy topic. I know quite a few gay men and women and I have to say that I'm convinced that they are born that way (and I'm glad they were).

As a person who works in the nightlife, let me say this; gay people are awesome. They tip well, dress well, behave well, bring tons of pretty girls with them and they tell me I'm handsome...

One of my favorite posts in this thread right there!

So you're handsome... interesting! Strangely I kinda always thought you were very old and wrinkled because you've had this pope avatar for so long.

Yes, I understand that.. but there are a lot of groups that are misunderstood and discriminated against that doesn't really make them part of the gay movement. By your reasoning, furries and kurdish people should also be put into the same category as gay people.

I bear no resemblance to the pope, luckily!
