A surprising amount of people in this thread were last online in April 2017. How come?

Maybe they were already getting bored with the site but decided to stick around for the launch of the Switch and then left after that passed.

I mean, the Switch's first half of the year for this year is pretty great, definitely the best Switch has had so far except MAYBE 2017 which is a bit unfair given it's the launch year and even that I would disagree with. 

I think Cerebral moreso means on the EPD level. In which case if the second half of the year was mostly spotlighted by big games technically not made by EPD (like in 2019, where the only thing they did was kind of assist with Link's Awakening), it wouldn't really make the situation any better. 

Pretty sure everyone appeared as logged in that date. It was a site bug of some sorts. I don't think you'll find any earlier date than that.

I have to explain this term to people in real life. There should be a school to teach "nerd-talk" to non-nerds. 1337, own, pwn, gank, etc.

In 2019 EPD released Super Mario Maker 2, New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe and Ring Fit Adventure and in Japan Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training for Nintendo Switch.

Btw EPD also released Mario Kart Tour in 2019.

But there's no doubt that the second half of the year was made mostly by development partners, not Ninendo (EDIT: Worth mentioning though that Ring Fit is fucking huge though). Doesn't matter much to me, but it probably matters to the user you're replying to. I'd love anything as good as late 2019 quality-wise. 

You're totally right. Although 2017 was the only year so far that was mainly carried by the EPD output with 6 games on the Switch.

Brain Training wasn't localised in the US because of legal reasons, but that's beside the topic.

Heh, this thread is great.  That list of games in the OP is so bad.  I feel like you can make a game out of it.  "How many games shown in the Feb 2021 Direct look better than any game from the list in the OP?"
