Forums - Nintendo - The Wii has broken a Milestone 3 straight weeks

I just got finished hitting acid with Avinash_Tyagi and John Lucas and I have to say that its become obvious that the Wii is an unstoppable force.

Nintendo could raise the price to 1,500$ for each system and it would sell TWICE AS MUCH AS IT DOES NOW WITHOUT INCREASING PRODUCTION.

Nintendo should bundle the DS with the Wii, it would sell at least 40 million copies a week, no matter the price.

I predict a Wii sales explosion in 2008, it will sell a MINIMUM of 60 million consoles a week. Don't believe me? Do you have a BA in Sales Expertise? I didn't think so. I haven't made one inaccurate prediction since I got my BA in Sales Expertise.

And my most conservative prediction, if they bundled the Xbox360 and Ps3 (I can see it happening in Q2 2008) and dropped the price to 11.99$, the Wii would STILL OUTSELL THEM FIFTY FOUR THOUSAND TO ONE.

I predict that this week the Wii will break 100 million, EASILY. I mean they are starting to sell them in vending machines people. ITS INSANITY!!!!!!!!

MASENKO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

End of '07 Sales:

Wii: 280 million
PS3: 3,450
Xbox360: 6,897

Wii fit will sell 4x the entire Playstation family game library combined by the end of its sales run.

The Wii will outsell every gaming system ever made combined by a ratio of 40:1.

This week will break 18,000,000

and possibly sell un to 18.5 million or so, If US does 1 mil, japan does .2 and others does .3... My prediction was actually 1.65

Today and tomorrow being the last day to get your Wii before Xmas, and going into the "5th week" sales, their sales could be enough to get up to 19M for the year.  All depends on how much stock was shipped, both to Nintendo NA (NOE and NCL as well) via air to get it there quickly, and then quickly out to the stores.  (2day delivery versus ground?).

Those air shipping charges add up, but OTOH, if a store wants to draw in the last second shopper to squeeze the last penny out of their credit card, this is the way to do it.

You think Wiis are scarce now?  First two weeks of January, there might be NO sales.  (or at least close to it)

Torturing the numbers.  Hear them scream.

The bare minimum sold in NA was 700k... that was as of tuesday nights. I believe NA did between 900 and 1.1 million alone. As NOA was shipping Wiis all week. All Japan sold 172k last week and if things follow the normal pattern over there it will be between 220-250 over there. Others is the Wild card, they have been selling over 300k for several weeks but no one knows how supply has been over there. So I would play it safe and say no increase in others. about 345k.

Just looking at these number alone the Wii will sell between 1.4 and 1.7
Worst case scenario and no Wii's were sold in NA after tues then 1.1 would be top end... but 1.1 is the bare minimum it can be this week(Barring a supply collapse in others like NA had last week)

add me, the more the merrier.

Whatever happened to those Wii supply constraints? I thought they were being produced at 1.8 million a month with no reserves, so how is it climbing 1 million a week?

theyve been stockpiling
