Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Just Dance. WTH Happened???

Maybe because reviews has no effect on Wii games sales at all. How many of the 5 million people who bought acually read a review for it?

To be fair PS3 fans cares more about reviews than any other fans.

Actualy (non "core") Wii owners do care about reviews, just not gaming site reviews, instead they probably look at reviews like these: http://www.amazon.com/Just-Dance-Nintendo-Wii/product-reviews/B002MWSY3O/ref=dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt... Note that initially the game didn't sell so well, it's the word of mouth that did it..

@psrock  hell yeah we care about reviews, im supposed to drop $60 bucks on a game with cool boxart???

The Just Dance games are only $40, just to let you know :).

oniyide meant PS3 games, which shows how you can get a lot more fun at 2/3 the price.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

You make it sounds like $40 is worthless, LOL.

Oh sorry.  I didn't mean to make it sound worthless.

Women. Ubisoft says 80% of sales were to women between age 12 and 19. That market is highly underserved on Wii. You have to remember, the Wii base is 50% female - there is no good reason for publishers not to target the 40m women who own a Wii, but they don't seem to know what women want.

One key thing- Advertising

This game in the UK sponsered The X Factor, AND Pineapple Dace Studios, and they have about 20mil viewers each!

There were also loads of other adverts on ALL THE DAMN TIME!

And it was released at a bugdet price, so people could buy it without worry.

So, it may not have been good, but any game, no matter how good it is, needs to be advertised well to succeed...

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

LOL.

I am sure many of us lived and died and still don't know what women want.

I mean, reveiwers hated it, and they are sooooooo reliable when it comes to both Wii games and judging party games fairly. Plus not a single PS3 or 360 game has sold well with mediocre reviews.

The people wanted a dance game, and this was the only one available. By the way: Just Dance 2 and the Jackson-Game got many good reviews. One advantage of this games is, that you can play them with up to 4 people. This is the reason many people buy it (and some of the reason Kinect Dance games will never get so much sales).

...and then this happened

BEST VISUALS EVAR!!!

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
