Aw, fuck. We got some screens and an encouragingly positive preview of True Crime just last week.

well, the real bad news is this:
GamesIndustry.biz claims that the company will now focus on their three key franchises: Call of Duty, StarCraft and World of Warcraft – something that many expect their financial year conference call will confirm later tonight.
"focus" huh? i'll take bets which one will be run into the ground next
“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

World of Warcraft. The userbase just isn't as big as it used to be

Didn't you see how well Cataclism sold?
And since Starcarft and WoW are like every 4 years (10ish... TBH) and CoD is yearly, it's unsure to say who'll go next.
WoW and Starcraft are safe unless they're milked

And you base your statement on what proof? Please provide a link to support this statement.

I'd say, unless quality of COD completely runs into the ground this year, then it's unlikely any of the three are going to fall any time soon.
Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

I was a huge fan of the Guitar Hero series right up until Guitar Hero World Tour. The silly gimmicks, ridiculous note charting and frankly way too many crap filler tracks means its got the end it deserved. The only two games they made that were decent were Guitar Hero 3, mainly due to the excellent track list and only slightly bad charting and Guitar Hero Metallica because even Activision couldn't screw up a music game with that track list (in a Metallica fans eyes of course).
Long live Rock Band!

Why do I have to provide proof if it's just from personal experience?
They'll probably be an article somewhere about declining figures, but from what I've seen on it, there isn't anywhere near as many people as there was, just due to a time thing. Even the greatest games don't last forever
Also, I'm not saying they will milk it, but if they were going to potentially milk a franchise and run it into the ground, then I can see WoW being next. Just my personal opinion
Kinda sad to see Activision kill off GH, DJ Hero and Tony Hawk games are also being canceled according to gamespot... god i hope activision dosn't touch Blizzard properties and i expect we will be saying good bye to CoD once they start pumping out 3 per year...
