I'm not crazy about them.... but...... they really add something.

I mean, I like completing them in casual Apple games, so why not in Zelda?

mm could be, but not all like achievements.. it's not that important just as long as you enjoy what you're playing, THAT would never be taken

Yeah, I don't finish them all, just the ones I find worthy.

But I'd like playing them in Zelda, I'd finish them fully

Oops...

If Nintendo ever do go for an achievement system, I hope they perfect it, as there's a few too many mind numbingly dull ones in games right now that have nothing to do with simple exploration or going the extra mile in the game or whatever (which seems to be exactly what Nintendo are talking about here). The one that immediately springs to mind was in Trine where you had to create x number of items with the Wizard. I have it, but upon getting it I realised how bloody stupid it all is...

And please, separate SP and MP ones. When I see online MP trophies in my PS3 games I instantly know I'm never going to get 100% and so I stop caring for the SP ones...

Commemorating this for posterity.

Edit: Just kidding, not that big of a jerk.

OT:

I'd also rather have unlockables. The way Lords of Shadow handles achievements is fine, isnce they do that in addition to unlockable content, but something like the Metroid Prime series (especially the trilogy) hits it best.

Only a few games nowadays have great unlockable content built into them, and if I had to choose between achievements for Vanquish (and I'll have all of them within a week) versus alternate costumes or concept art, I'll take the costumes and art every day of the week.

I don't need achievements to 100% a Zelda game. I do it anyway.

Eh, it's still in the Mafia thread if anyone wants to see it.  I was wondering if 3.0 has eaten yet another post... >_>

Now you need to offer your opinion on the matter at hand.

I could just copy-paste my posts from the last thread we had on the subject, but the abridged version: "Meh.  Achievements, zey do nuttin' for me!"

Looking at the Top30 most sold games of all time, almost every title has Nintendo written on it.

I think they know what they do. I've never felt like I need achievements too...
