To be honest, the PS3 isn't selling very well for a SONY console.

But it IS selling well for a game console in this very competitive market. Right now it and the 360 are in an epic war for 2nd place in current sales while the Wii waggles away in first place.

 You can´t only take the percentage of the sales it has compared to the Xbox 360  

If both consoles continue to sell on the roughly same rate 2010 will show something like 40 million Xbox 360s and 35 million PS3´s which would mean the PS3 had 85% of Xbox 360´s sales but still didn´t catch up at all.

 You have to look at the total gap and the gap grew during this year. The PS3 would have to outsell the Xbox 360 by more than 7 million units next year which would mean about 17-20 million depending what the Xbox360 sells... that won´t happen. 

Yay ... Its obvious that it will pass the 8 million mark untill the end of the year , the question is , with how much ...

If you are talking about WW then you are right, but PS 3 already catch the Xbox 360 in Japan and in 2008 – Europe will follow, but that s just my prediction.

No offense, but... what? The 360 and the PS3 have been selling in a dead heat for weeks now, neither exceeding the other by more than about 10%. Over the course of 2007 as a whole, the PS3 is further behind the 360 now than it was when the year started. I'm not understanding these comments. (The only metric by which the PS3 has been "catching up" is in terms of percentage, which it was guaranteed to do since it started at 0% compared to 100% for the 360. That's not particularly noteworthy.)

Or do you mean in Europe? That would be a fair claim to make, of course.

And after Halo3 pushed the 360 up front in "sales per month". Which is so early in the game the only metric that is really important. The 7mio headstart of the 360 won't be very significant in the midterm.

Here in Denmark they really are pushing it with uncharted comercials with ingame footage.. assasins creed with ingame footage with awasome music etc etc in the background. Wii is that olympic game thingy but its rarely shown. And only 360 ived seen is need for speed pro street. Call of duty is mostly show as a ps3 game and most movie commercials is with dvd and Bd. This is playstation land and will be for a long time.

I've noticed alot of new PS3 gamers the past couple of weeks while playing online. And that's just from one of the online games that I play alot right now. I can see the PS3 picking up steam and making it's presence known. This next year will be huge for Sony and the PS3 will shrink the gaps between it and the 360 and even Wii. (Although to lessen the gap with the Wii will be difficult.) I see 2008 as a big year for the PS3 and that it will jumpstart the juggernaut into a big sales spike.

Even though there are people on this board who predict that the PS3 won't have a price drop, i see the PS3 having by xmas season next year to drop another $100, most likely with a $50 drop around Q2 and then another in november of 08. That will give yet another boost to the PS3, and shrink the remaining gap even more. I'm not saying that the PS3 will have higher LTD sales numbers with the 360 at that time, but the gap will be much smaller with a good chance for the PS3 to pass the 360 in early/mid 09. And yea, that's WW.
