Hahahaha that's Karma for everyone! I'm glad they're being bricked.

Karma? this has not anything to do with karma, modding a console is a risk that lies in you and only you, everybody knows that...

Hacking your console so you can pirate games (which is stealing) is wrong; having your console brick because of it is justice. Therefore Karma.

Yeah, I *rarely* believe anyone that comes on here trying to defend themselves saying they only use it for homebrew, or they're only demoing the game, or they're going to buy it later, they'll buy it once they finish the game, or any of the other bullshit excuses. I accept that people that only use things like the Jailbreak for homebrew exist, I just don't often believe random user is one of them (for instance, I actually believe Euphoria). So yeah, karma is a bitch.
Deprive developers of their hard earned money, you lose your PS3. I am all for that.

Except it's not karma, because karma is not a simple, one-to-one correspondence of reward or punishment, and what happened here was a direct warned consequence of an action, that's what i'm saying, they knew that using the tools comes with risk and the responsibility is on them...
I personally defend console hacks, but not for piracy and i have the same reason for both statements: I am a systems analyst and designer, specially software, and before that i was a full developer (i still throw some code but as a hobby, it's not my full job anymore), and i was involved with systems security for long, i even used the ECDSA (and because of that i still can't believe how Sony did this astronomically wrong)... And i've seen how piracy has changed our jobs first-hand...
That's why i like when a lot of leechers act as guinea pigs and brick their systems (and this is not new), because most of them are doing it for piracy, homebrewers are usually more cautious than that...
