No fair! I've been claiming to like Jim and his reviews for a few years now.

I liked him before it was cool to like him! GRRRRRR

I think he forgets to make a difference between those who complain, because they are genuinely interested in a product and want to see some issues ironed out and those people who are simply looking for an excuse to not buy something (this especially applies to products that have yet to be released). For example, if you read through the comments regarding the 3DS's battery life, you will find that the ones who are the most vocal about it, are usually those whose last choice for a video game platform would be Nintendo, meaning they don't really want it in the first place.

The biggest chunk of complaints and controversy in gaming comes from people who probably wouldn't buy something even if it was perfect, simply because of the company it is made by, yet they still are always there to whine about it.

Hey rol, this is where someone points out, you are one of the biggest complainers and controversial figure here! :P

I liked him before he went on a 3D Dot Game Heroes worshipping binge.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

If anything, I'll disagree with him that gaming is the worse (though those are the communities I spend the most time).  Just go read a typical comment thread on an Engadget news story, imdb forum for a movie or tv show, listen to sports or political radio talk shows or an Adam Corolla podcast and you'll see its all over the place.

Its a miserable, nonconstructive world view that I personally feel is very destructive.  Honestly, even if the odds are 1:5,000,000, is it worth it to stir up just one of those mentally unstable people out there into action?  Criticism is only good if it is constructive, complaining if it is genuine need.

Agreed. I think everyone would be better off if they took a step back and appreciated what they have and what their possibilities are (or at least most people living in western culture would). In Denmark, students get payed monthly to help pay their bills. I don't have any other monthly income than that and I spend it all, but I still donate money to charity every month, so others can have a chance at a better life, because I can afford it. Sharing is caring!

The second pic was worse than toastboy demanding apologies.

Above: still the best game of the year.

Well, he's describing flaws in his own character that I've been pointing out for ages.

Trivial bullshit and hate, that's Jim Sterling.
