Forums - Nintendo - The 3DS is missing one key thing

I thought this thread would be about something interesting, like a better design (I'm a bit disappointed with the 3DS design), but an achievement type system? Well, I for one don't care about trophies or achievements on my PS3 or 360. I haven't even collected all trophies of one of my most favourite games this gen: Flower (a game with easier trophies, at least that's what I read somewhere). Looked up how to get the one missing Flower trophy, but never bothered to actually get it.

Achievements. What a joke.

Boasting about the size of one's otaku e-life is soo important.

Like it or not, I don't care about achivements. I think the majority of people who play games on console, PC or whatever don't care or just don't know what achievments are, in terms of sheer number. Useless feature to me.

disagree. Who cares about a digital trophy?

You'd be surprised.

People.

on topic: It isn't a key feature, but its nice for those who wants it, like twesterm.

Not that I care for those things, but its nice to see a little icon on something you did.

Agreed. I love that I can keep track of everything I've played,

I think you can. I don't remember where I saw it, but I remember faintly in a video they said that there's something like a diary that tracks how long you've played which game and what you've done on the system.

I personally have never understood the appeal of trophies/achievements. I think it's mainly to brag and for measuring the size of people's internet/game-dicks. (No offense! :P) Having said that I wouldn't mind if something like achievements was implemented. If people want that so much it would surely be a good move to have something like that. They most certainly could sell a lot of games to "achievement-crazy" people, which they wouldn't have bought otherwise.

Need something off Play-Asia? http://www.play-asia.com/

it doesn't bother me, i never look at my trophy's on my ps3.. i usually play the game, finish it and thats it, i usually fluke getting trophy's without even trying.

i didn't know Trophy's are such a big deal these days

if Nintendo ever considers having Achievements. what the hell is it gonna be called? it cant be Trophy's or Achievements, they are already been used to death lol

Everyone who says that Achievements are just for measuring e-penis have never had the satisfying experience of one popping up unexpectedly and the tingling warm feeling it brings inside. I also prefer playing a game with trophies than one without and I'm not even a nut that has to collect all of them.

Please Watch/Share this video so it gets shown in Hollywood.

Thought you were going to say good games, cause I'd agree with that.

Or even a screen that isn't terrible for your eyes.

Achievements/trophies are fun but I would like the option to hide those everyone else. Yes, when I play online I don't want anyone else to see my trophies. I don't think either PS3 or 360 have option to hide achievements or trophies from public (at least PS3 doesn't seem to have one).

On the 360 I believe there is a way to hide it but I don't see the point in it. I mean when there is an achievement for an incredible feat in a game I think you would want to let people know you accomplished it. I remember I was so proud of beating Call of Duty 2 on veteran for the longest time because it certainly wasn't easy.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

I have some trophies on the PS3, but unfortunately there was no tingling warm feeling. If there was... then I'd love trophies of course!

This describes me perfectly, yes.
