Indeed. Super Mario Bros 3 has only a 9.5 in IGN and Super Mario World a 8.8 if I'm not mistaken.

Seriously, if you see someone grasping for straws to come up with reasons why he doesn't like a game, then the title being exclusive to a particular console is usually at the core of it. I am talking about things like complaining about a lack of online functionality in Super Mario Galaxy.

No, you're absolutely right. Though I don't know who this Phil guy is so I can't accuse him of being bias or whatever but still, majority of his arguements are facepalm worthy.

I hated the first one because of the slow moving and floaty jumps. If I do a platformer, I want Mario type controls, fast and precise. That's really the only reason I quit playing it and was pissed of for buying it. The game itself intrigued me, I just couldn't get past the controls.
